During I was browsing the news in Washington Post, I found this title in the picture below 👇🏻
I wonder! a newspaper like the biggest newspaper in the world, how can called Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi the leader of international terrorism as a leader of "The Islamic state" In all titles of the news about his death or during his life !!
My objection is based on the frequent using of the "Islamic state" term when the newspaper is talking about ISIS.
If the writer of this below journalist report don't know the meaning of a state and the entities that can be called " state"
I will teach him here the meaning of a "state" according the international law
" a state is typically defined as being based on the 1933 Montevideo Convention.
According to Article 1 of the Convention, the state as a person of international law should possess the following qualifications:
1. Permanent population
2. Defined territory
3. Government
4. Capacity to enter into relations with the other states"
And in another definition:-
"A state is an entity consisting of a territory, known borders, sovereignty, a People, a recognized government and an international recognition"
According this definitions there is nothing in international law allowed to you to use a term of "state" or a term "Islamic state" when you writing about the terrorism groups whose led by Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi because the Islamic State is not has a territory or boarders or a people or any sovereignty or international recognition government, therefore the "Islamic state" isn't exist in the reality, Subsequently it is not has any recognition in the international society .
Now the important question is why the Washington Post promotes the term "Islamic State" In violation of international law, UN resolutions, the Security Council resolutions and the reality?
Can we consider or expect the answer of this question is " the Washington Post insist on using a state term to define the terrorism groups is an enhance to them by award them the media solidarity with the terrorism by announcing that they have their state in the Middle East and also aim to enhance the islamophobia"
I think must give up and stop of using the term of Islamic state, Unless the the newspaper has another vision or purposes.
