PARIS — BUILDING STRONGER INTERNATIONAL LEGAL CONNECTIONS

Paris was an important stop in AGLC – Intellectual Property & Arbitration’s continued international expansion and professional engagement across Europe.

During my Paris mission, I had the privilege of engaging with distinguished legal professionals and discussing opportunities for professional cooperation, international arbitration, cross-border legal matters, and the development of stronger connections between legal professionals across jurisdictions.

One of the key meetings was with Roland Ziadé, Partner and Global Co-Head of International Arbitration at Linklaters, at the firm’s Paris office.

Our discussion provided an opportunity to exchange views on international arbitration, cross-border disputes, dispute resolution strategies, and the evolving legal and commercial relationships connecting Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Arnd Wolfram, Founder of WOLFRAM-Avocat and Avocat au Barreau de Paris, for a valuable professional exchange covering international business law, cross-border legal practice, intellectual property, and Franco-European professional cooperation.

These engagements are an important part of AGLC’s broader international strategy.

For us, international expansion is not simply about geographical presence.

It is about building trusted professional relationships, exchanging expertise, understanding different legal environments, and creating reliable channels of cooperation that can serve clients operating across borders.

With its strong international legal community and long-standing role in international arbitration, Paris remains an important centre for global dispute resolution and cross-border legal practice. Linklaters describes its international arbitration practice as a global team working across major arbitration centres, including Paris, Geneva, London, Dubai and New York, with experience across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

جاءت زيارتي إلى باريس ضمن استراتيجية AGLC – Intellectual Property & Arbitration لتعزيز الحضور والتواصل المهني الدولي وبناء شبكة قانونية تمتد بين أوروبا والشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا.

وشهدت الزيارة لقاءات مهنية مهمة، من بينها لقاء مع Roland Ziadé، الشريك والرئيس العالمي المشارك لممارسة التحكيم الدولي في Linklaters بباريس، ولقاء مع Arnd Wolfram، مؤسس WOLFRAM-Avocat وعضو نقابة المحامين في باريس.

تركزت المناقشات حول التحكيم الدولي، المنازعات العابرة للحدود، الملكية الفكرية، القانون التجاري الدولي وفرص التعاون المهني الدولي.

بالنسبة إلى AGLC، التوسع الدولي لا يعني مجرد التواجد الجغرافي، بل يعني بناء علاقات مهنية حقيقية، وتبادل الخبرات، وخلق جسور تعاون قانوني موثوقة عبر مختلف الأنظمة القانونية.

A Meaningful Step Toward International Cooperation in Intellectual Property & Dispute Resolution

It was a privilege to visit the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva and to engage in constructive and forward-looking discussions with representatives of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center, as well as the team responsible for membership and related professional affairs.

The meetings provided an excellent opportunity to discuss potential avenues for institutional cooperation, professional engagement and future joint initiatives, particularly in the fields of:

Intellectual Property • International Arbitration • Mediation • Alternative Dispute Resolution • Cross-Border Disputes

During our discussions, we explored possible frameworks through which AGLC – Intellectual Property & Arbitration could further develop its international professional engagement and contribute to initiatives connecting practitioners and institutions across different jurisdictions.

For AGLC, this visit was not simply another professional meeting.

It reflects our continued vision of expanding our international professional network and strengthening meaningful connections between Egypt, the Middle East, Europe, Asia and the wider global legal community.

Our presence in Geneva provided an important opportunity to exchange perspectives, explore possibilities for future cooperation, and strengthen AGLC’s engagement with the international ecosystem of intellectual property and dispute resolution.

We are grateful for the warm reception, the valuable discussions and the professional openness extended to us throughout the meetings.

The discussions have started.

From Legal Education to Professional Practice

We are proud to announce the successful completion of the First Cohort of the Summer Legal Internship Program 2026, organized by AGLC – Intellectual Property & Arbitration in collaboration with the Faculty of Law, Badr University in Assiut, Egypt.

Today marked the closing day of the first cohort, bringing together our interns to celebrate the completion of their training journey and to receive their Certificates of Completion in recognition of their commitment, participation, and dedication throughout the program.

The program was designed to provide a comprehensive and practical introduction to the legal profession, combining academic knowledge with real-world legal practice.

Throughout the internship, the participants were exposed to a wide range of legal and professional disciplines, including:

A significant part of the program was dedicated to practical legal simulations, culminating in a final Moot Court and simulated arbitration hearing, where the interns had the opportunity to apply their legal research, analysis, drafting, advocacy, argumentation, and professional communication skills in a practical setting.

Our objective was never simply to deliver lectures.

We aimed to create an environment in which law students could experience how legal knowledge is transformed into professional judgment, strategic thinking, advocacy, risk assessment, and practical legal solutions.

Our Appreciation

AGLC extends its sincere appreciation to the President of Badr University in Assiut for supporting and facilitating this meaningful academic and professional initiative.

Our sincere thanks and appreciation also go to Professor Dr. Essam Zanaty, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Badr University in Assiut, for his support and cooperation in making this internship program possible.

We would also like to express our appreciation to Professor Dr. Ahmed Alam El-Din, Professor of Commercial Law at the Faculty of Law, Badr University in Assiut, for attending the closing day and participating as a representative of Badr University in Assiut.

🇪🇬 ختام المجموعة الأولى من برنامج التدريب القانوني الصيفي 2026

من التعليم القانوني إلى الممارسة المهنية

نفخر اليوم بالإعلان عن الاختتام الناجح للمجموعة الأولى من برنامج التدريب القانوني الصيفي 2026، الذي تنظمه AGLC – Intellectual Property & Arbitration بالتعاون مع كلية القانون – جامعة بدر بأسيوط.

وقد شهد اليوم ختام أعمال المجموعة الأولى من البرنامج، حيث اجتمع المتدربون للاحتفال بإتمام رحلتهم التدريبية، وتسلم شهادات إتمام البرنامج تقديرًا لالتزامهم ومشاركتهم وحرصهم على الاستفادة طوال فترة التدريب.

وقد صُمم البرنامج ليقدم تجربة قانونية عملية متكاملة، تجمع بين المعرفة الأكاديمية ومتطلبات الممارسة القانونية الفعلية.

وخلال فترة التدريب، تعرض المشاركون لمجموعة متنوعة من المجالات القانونية والمهارات المهنية، شملت:

كما تضمن البرنامج جانبًا مهمًا من المحاكاة العملية للممارسة القانونية، تُوّج بتنفيذ Moot Court وجلسة تحكيمية ختامية محاكاة، أتاحا للمتدربين تطبيق مهارات البحث والتحليل والصياغة والمرافعة وعرض الحجج القانونية والتواصل المهني في إطار عملي.

ولم يكن هدف البرنامج مجرد تقديم محاضرات نظرية.

بل سعينا إلى خلق بيئة تدريبية يتعرف من خلالها طلاب القانون على كيفية تحويل المعرفة القانونية إلى حكم مهني، وتفكير استراتيجي، ومرافعة قانونية، وتقييم للمخاطر، وحلول عملية للمنازعات.

تتقدم AGLC بخالص الشكر والتقدير إلى السيد الأستاذ الدكتور/ رئيس جامعة بدر بأسيوط على دعمه وتيسيره لهذه المبادرة الأكاديمية والمهنية المهمة.

Today marks the first day of the Summer Legal Internship Program 2026, organized by AGLC – Intellectual Property & Arbitration in collaboration with the Faculty of Law, Badr University in Assiut, Egypt.

This program goes beyond the traditional concept of a summer internship. It reflects a shared vision to build a genuine bridge between academic legal education and professional legal practice, providing law students with direct exposure to the skills, responsibilities, professional ethics, and strategic thinking required in today’s evolving legal profession.

We were particularly honored to welcome Professor Dr. Ahmed Alam El-Din, Professor of Commercial Law at the Faculty of Law, Badr University, whose presence added significant academic value to the opening day of the program.

AGLC extends its sincere appreciation to Professor Dr. Ahmed Alam El-Din for his distinguished academic vision, his commitment to developing practical legal education, and his belief in creating meaningful connections between university education and professional legal practice.

Such a vision is essential to preparing a new generation of lawyers who are not only academically qualified, but also professionally prepared to understand the realities of modern legal practice.

🇪🇬 من التعليم القانوني إلى الممارسة المهنية الحقيقية

نفخر اليوم بانطلاق أول أيام برنامج التدريب القانوني الصيفي 2026، الذي تنظمه AGLC – Intellectual Property & Arbitration بالتعاون مع كلية القانون – جامعة بدر بأسيوط.

ويأتي هذا البرنامج ليتجاوز المفهوم التقليدي للتدريب الصيفي، ويعكس رؤية مشتركة تهدف إلى بناء جسر حقيقي بين التعليم القانوني الأكاديمي والممارسة المهنية الفعلية، بما يمنح طلاب القانون فرصة للتعرف بصورة مباشرة على المهارات والمسؤوليات والأخلاقيات المهنية والتفكير الاستراتيجي الذي تتطلبه الممارسة القانونية الحديثة.

وقد تشرفنا خلال اليوم الأول بالترحيب بـ الأستاذ الدكتور/ أحمد علم الدين، أستاذ القانون التجاري بكلية القانون – جامعة بدر، حيث أضفى حضوره قيمة أكاديمية متميزة على انطلاق البرنامج.

وتتقدم AGLC بخالص التقدير للأستاذ الدكتور/ أحمد علم الدين على رؤيته الأكاديمية المتميزة، واهتمامه بتطوير منظومة التعليم القانوني العملي، وإيمانه بأهمية بناء صلة حقيقية بين الدراسة الجامعية والممارسة القانونية المهنية.

وهي رؤية نؤمن بأنها تمثل أحد أهم الأسس لإعداد جيل جديد من القانونيين، لا يقتصر تأهيله على المعرفة الأكاديمية، وإنما يمتلك كذلك القدرة على فهم واقع الممارسة القانونية والتعامل مع متطلباتها باحترافية.

ويتضمن البرنامج تدريبًا وتطبيقات عملية في مجالات الملكية الفكرية، والتحكيم وتسوية المنازعات الدولية، والتقاضي، والبحث والتحليل القانوني، والصياغة القانونية، والتفاوض والتواصل المهني، والممارسة القانونية العابرة للحدود.

في AGLC، نؤمن بأن إعداد الجيل القادم من القانونيين يتطلب تعاونًا حقيقيًا بين الجامعات وكليات القانون والأساتذة والأكاديميين ومكاتب المحاماة والممارسين والمؤسسات القانونية والتحكيمية والمجتمع القانوني الدولي.

سابقة قضائية جديدة تُضاف إلى سجل AGLC

يسر AGLC – Intellectual Property & Arbitration أن يعلن عن صدور حكم لصالح موكله من محكمة القضاء الإداري – الدائرة الثالثة، في الدعوى رقم 36802 لسنة 78 ق ضد نقابة المهندسين، والذي قضى بإلغاء القرار السلبي بالامتناع عن قيد المدعي بالنقابة.

وتُعد هذه القضية من القضايا المبدئية التي عالجت مسألة امتناع نقابة المهندسين عن قيد بعض خريجي كليات الهندسة استنادًا إلى اشتراط الحصول على شهادة الثانوية العامة، دون الاعتداد بمسار التعليم الفني السابق للالتحاق بالكلية.

يؤكد هذا الحكم دور القضاء الإداري في مراقبة القرارات الإدارية وصون مبدأ المشروعية، بما يحمي حقوق الأفراد ويُخضع الجهات الإدارية لسيادة القانون.

A New Legal Precedent Added to AGLC's Record

AGLC – Intellectual Property & Arbitration is pleased to announce a favorable ruling from the Court of Administrative Justice – Third Circuit, in Case No. 36802/78 J.Y. against the Engineers Syndicate, annulling the syndicate's implicit refusal to register the client as a member.

This case addressed a significant legal question: the syndicate's refusal to register certain engineering graduates on the grounds that they lacked a general secondary school certificate, without recognizing their prior technical education track leading up to their engineering studies.

The ruling reaffirms the essential role of administrative courts in reviewing administrative decisions and upholding the principle of legality — safeguarding individual rights and holding administrative bodies accountable to the rule of law.

Special thanks to the AGLC team for their outstanding work in building the legal arguments and pursuing this case to a successful conclusion.
