By the end of Day 1 at iFXEXPO, most calendars are already full - and most decisions are already in motion.

Thank you to everyone we met today in Limassol - clients, partners and new connections. The day was packed with back-to-back conversations, fast decisions and the kind of discussions that don’t stay theoretical for long.

Licensing. Expansion. Market entry. Structuring. Crypto and brokerage setups.

We appreciate every meeting, every conversation and every bit of trust.

📍 We’re still in Limassol for the remaining days of iFX EXPO.
Roman Baranovskyi, Senior Lawyer and Olena Kholod, Head of Sales, are available for meetings throughout the event.

If we didn’t connect yesterday - there’s still time.

🚨 The wrong jurisdiction costs months. The wrong structure means re-doing a licence from scratch.

Over 13 years, we've taken 150+ projects through licensing across fintech, brokerage and crypto - and seen exactly what those calls cost when they're made without the right advice.

At iFXEXPO in Limassol, we're not pitching ourselves - we're reviewing your setup. Jurisdiction, structure, launch timeline: if you're mid-process or about to start, let's stress-test the plan in one conversation instead of finding out when it's already expensive to fix.

If you're launching a brokerage, licensing a fintech product or entering a new market - come with specific questions. We'll leave you with a clear path forward.

You'll be talking to:

👉 Roman Baranovskyi - Senior Lawyer
👉 Olena Kholod - Head of Sales

$154 billion - that’s the volume of illicit crypto transactions in 2025, according to Chainalysis.

While the market continues to navigate these challenges, at SBSB we focus on developing the expertise that will shape a more transparent and compliant industry.

At the invitation of ELSA Kharkiv our Head of Crypto Department, Daria Lysenko, delivered a guest lecture on AML and the risks associated with virtual assets for law students from Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University and Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

Together, they explored how AML frameworks apply to virtual assets, the risks behind crypto transactions and what it actually takes to work with compliance in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape - beyond textbook theory.

For us, this is more than knowledge sharing. It’s about passing on real, hands-on experience to those who will soon enter the market as professionals, partners and decision-makers.

We believe a safer and more transparent industry starts with education - early and grounded in real-world practice.

Proud to support a new generation of lawyers who are already thinking in terms of blockchain, risk and compliance. The future is being built now and we’re glad to be part of it 🙌

SBSB is now an official contributor to Chambers and Partners 🏆

This is our first-ever guide in Chambers and we're not going to pretend we're not proud of it. Chambers and Partners is the global benchmark for legal expertise. Being selected as a contributing author isn't advertising - it's recognition. It means the editorial team chose us as the experts they trust to set the standard.

We authored the Estonia 🇪🇪 chapter of the Fintech Guide - covering the regulatory landscape, legal risks for businesses, cross-border tax considerations, practical strategies for safe market entry and the specialized regulatory requirements for crypto-assets following the implementation of the MiCA framework.

Huge thanks to the team that made it happen:

🔸 Daria Lysenko - Head of Crypto Department
🔸 Nikita Prokopenko - Crypto Lawyer

Binance and Bybit didn't choose Kazakhstan by accident 🇰🇿

While the world's regulatory landscape remains a puzzle, the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) has quietly become the gold standard for crypto licensing in the region.

If you are looking to scale your exchange, custody service or trading platform, you aren't just looking for a license - you're looking for a strategic launchpad.

Inside the carousel, we break down:

📍 Why AIFC is the bridge between East and West
📍 Key licensing options - exchange, custody, trading platform etc
📍 How to use the Fintech Lab to pilot your business risk-free

The most critical insights for launching and scaling iGaming projects in 2026 aren’t in the headlines - they’re discussed on-site at SBC Summit Malta.

We’re heading to the island to filter out the noise and bring you proven strategies: from unlicensed solutions and White Labels to full licensing and comprehensive business support.

📅 On-site team:

👨‍⚖️ Roman Baranovskyi - Head of Legal iGaming Department
🤝 Olha Makarova - Customer Manager

Let’s skip the “nice to meet you” part. Here’s why it’s actually worth meeting us:

You bring your idea / market / “we’re figuring it out” stage - we turn it into a clear and realistic action plan.

👉 which jurisdiction won’t kill your timeline later
👉 where licensing is fast vs. where it only looks fast
👉 how to avoid getting stuck with blocked accounts or rejected partners
👉 what budget you actually need (not the optimistic version)
👉 and what in iGaming will still make sense in 2026 - not just today

We won’t sell you a dream. We’ll show you where the risks are before they become expensive problems.

📍 If you’re going to Malta - come prepared with questions. We’ll make sure you leave with answers.

Is your iGaming license a strategic asset or a ticking time bomb? ⚖️

The real value of a license often becomes apparent only at a critical moment - when a Tier-1 bank initiates de-risking and freezes accounts, or a regulator issues a fine due to a misinterpretation of updated rules.

In the latest issue of IMGL (International Masters of Gaming Law) Magazine, our Head of Gambling Department, Roman Baranovskyi, provides a detailed analysis of one of Europe’s most stable jurisdictions: Estonia 🇪🇪:

📍 The "Middle Way" Strategy: why Estonia is the perfect hybrid between restrictive EU regimes and unstable offshore zones - offering Tier-1 bankability with digital-first efficiency.

📍 Decoding the 2026 Fiscal Shift: a breakdown of the upcoming March 1st legislative "fix" that unifies tax rates for games of chance and skill at 5.5% and what it means for your financial modeling.

📍 Technical Sovereignty (EMTA & HAMPI): how to navigate the mandatory "backdoor" reporting and the centralized self-exclusion system without disrupting user experience.

At SBSB Lawyers, we help high-growth businesses interpret regulatory requirements and adapt them to specific operational needs. Special thanks to Phil Savage and the IMGL team for the collaboration and the opportunity to share our expertise.

If you’re looking for more than just a legal opinion - if you need a roadmap to market leadership - let’s talk. Whether it’s Estonia, Curacao or emerging high-growth markets, we ensure your licensing strategy is bulletproof.

Most companies think their AI is low-risk. Many are wrong 🤖

But here’s the real question: Is your business ready for the EU AI Act, which requires:

⚠️ mandatory compliance frameworks
⚠️ formal risk management systems
⚠️ documented governance structures
⚠️ and even suspension of AI systems for non-compliance

It’s no longer enough that your AI “works well.”

Now it must be:

✔️ explainable
✔️ documented
✔️ monitored
✔️ audit-ready

And most importantly - supported by a clear governance structure inside your company.

🔴 Waiting until a regulator asks questions is not a strategy.
🟢 Building a structured compliance system is.

That’s exactly why we developed our AI Governance Framework - to help businesses move from uncertainty to control, and from reactive compliance to strategic AI management 🚀

If AI is part of your operations, this shift is no longer optional.
👉 Swipe through the carousel to see how the framework works and whether it applies to your business.

ICE Barcelona was loud. Fast. Dense 🇪🇸

Too many meetings to count. Too many conversations that started with “quick question” and ended up lasting an hour.

☕️ Coffee on the go. Voice notes instead of notes. Messages sent between halls. Plans changing mid-day.

These days were about being inside the industry - meeting clients, partners, old contacts and new faces, catching the pulse, feeling where the market is breathing faster.

Keeping up with regulatory news and market changes wasn’t abstract - it happened live, between meetings and quick updates throughout the day.

Huge thanks to everyone we met, talked to, debated with, laughed with, and promised to follow up after Barcelona. You made these days what they were.

It was intense.
A bit chaotic.
Very energising.

📣 Stay tuned, next posts dive into key iGaming insights and regulatory shifts you won't want to miss in 2026.
