St. Kitts is one of the 32 provinces of the Dominican Republic.
Was created in 1932 with the name of province trujillo in honor of his creator, the dictator Rafael Leonidas Trujillo. After Trujillo's death in 1961, it was given its present name of San Cristobal for the name of the capital city. Included the current province of Monte Plata until 1982.
San Cristobal is located in a valley irregular, surrounded by hills and low hills. This little valley is furrowed by rivers nigua, yubaso and doña ana. In addition, the relief sancristobalense is crossed by numerous glens. Its climate is tropical with frequent rain, temperatures are moderate.
The Main Rivers of the province are the haina river, which forms the eastern boundary of the province; the nizao, which forms the boundary with the peravia province, and the chigger. Other Rivers are mana, Yubaso (or white), the taking and the streams, and itabó sainaguá najayo.

The San Cristóbal province has a total area of 1.426,20 km². is divided into eight municipalities and municipal six districts (M.D.). 2
