MARINO BALLENA NATIONAL PARK

Welcome to a breathtaking coastal sanctuary located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, it is renowned for its stunning blend of lush tropical rainforest, pristine beaches, and vibrant marine life. Marino Ballena National Park is celebrated for its rich marine biodiversity, making it a prime destination for snorkeling and scuba diving. 2024 tax obligations reminder.

Trópico Legal could assist you with the following items if bought under a corporation which we created for you or which we hold the corporate books for, or if Tropico Legal holds your POA:

1. Yearly shareholders´ declaration. Deadline April 2024.

2. Yearly asset tax declaration D195 form. Deadline March 2024;

3. PROPERTY value declaration to be filed with the respective Municipality. After closing and EVERY 5 YEARS thereafter.

4. ***If you bought under your PERSONAL NAME, only land tax payment would apply yearly, and the property value declaration would apply every 5 years.

Please make sure that you, your accountant, manager, or escrow company pays for:

5. Yearly corporation taxes estimated at $125 – this can be paid directly in the bank.

6. Yearly land taxes calculated at 0.25% of the purchase price, paid every January or quarterly at your choice – directly on the local government (if you pay it during January you obtain 8% discount).

7. If you own a house in Costa Rica, please remember to:

i. Contact your insurance agent to make sure that your insurance is active.

ii. File for Luxury home tax if your construction value is $270,000 or more.

8. If you own a car in Costa Rica, please remember to:
i. Contact your insurance agent to make sure that your insurance is active.

ii. Pay for your yearly road fees (Marchamo).

iii. Make sure that your vehicle technical revision in up to date.
