¿Habían visto un tucán albino ?
Bueno yo tampoco, sin embargo después de un viaje de 5 horas hasta Guapiles logré llegar a conocer este increíble tucán con un caso especial de leucísmo, el mismo se diferencia del albinismo debido a la ausencia de ojos con pupilas rosadas.
Ambas condiciónes genéticas causan una perdida de pigmentación en la piel, pelo, plumas o escamas de un animal.
Hay posibilidades de que en Costa Rica tengamos 2 individuos con la misma condición genética, visibles pos las diferentes marcas en sus picos.

Al final hay una foto para la comparación con los colores normales de esta especie de tucán.

Have you ever seen an albino toucan?
Well, neither had I, but after a 5-hour trip to Guápiles, I finally got to see this incredible toucan with a special case of leucism. This condition differs from albinism due to the absence of eyes with pink pupils.
Both genetic conditions cause a loss of pigmentation in an animal’s skin, fur, feathers, or scales.
There’s a possibility that we have two individuals in Costa Rica with the same genetic condition, visible due to the different markings on their beaks.

At the end, there’s a photo for comparison with the normal colors of this toucan species.

An incredible little bird called Black-throated Blue Warbler.
It is a casual migratory bird from October to March, although few individuals are ever seen.
In this case, this male has been feeding on a fig tree for several days, which allowed me to take some photographs.
Without a doubt, the more difficult it is to see a bird, the more you enjoy the moment you see it.
¡¡Long live the lifers!!

Una linda ave llamada Reinita Azul y Negro.
Esta es una de las aves migratorias casuales que nos visitan desde octubre hasta marzo, sin embargo pocos individuos son vistos.
Este macho tiene varios días de estarse alimentando de un arbol de higos por lo que me permitió hacerle algunas fotografías.
Sin duda alguna mientras mas difícil sea ver un ave mas se disfruta al momento de verla
¡¡Que vivan los Lifers !!

La alimentacion en las aves no acaba cuando el polluelo deja el nido, a menudo se les puede ver a los padres brindando alimento a sus polluelos despues de haber dejado el nido, ya que aun no son capaces de subsistir por si mismos.
En este caso tenemos a un padre/madre tucancillo alimentando a su pequeño minutos despues de su primer vuelo, quien parecia no tener mucho interes en comer.🙄🙄🙄

Feeding in birds does not end when the chick leaves the nest; parents can often be seen providing food to their chicks after they have left the nest, as they are not yet able to survive on their own.
In this case we have a mom/dad toucanet feeding it’s little one minutes after Its first flight, who seemed to have little interest in eating.🙄🙄🙄

I spent all morning today taking some photos and videos of the smallest species of toucan found in Costa Rica feeding Its chicks!!
