GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING A COLOMBIAN VISA APPLICATION AS A PENSIONER:
TYPE OF VISA THAT APPLYES FOR YOU:
MIGRANT VISA
Authorization provided for foreigners who wish to enter or remain in the national territory with the intention of establishing themselves.
M - Pensioner
The foreigner who receives a retirement pension may apply.
TERM: The “M” type visa will be valid for three years.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Have a valid passport or travel document, in good condition and with free space for visas.
Certification that recognizes monthly pension payment in favor of the visa applicant abroad in an amount not less than three (3) current monthly legal minimum wages, about U.S.D. 830 ($828.116 Minimum wage in Colombia in 2019). issued by competent entity or diplomatic or consular mission of the country where the foreigner obtained the pension accredited in Colombia
Photographs: 1 Original (s) Size 3x4cm in JPG format, with a maximum weight 300 KB. Additional note: Color with white background, facing the camera, full and centered head, neutral face. Both eyes should open. Flashes should not appear in the photo, do not allow hair or other accessories to cover the face.
All documents, requirements other than identity or travel documents, must have an issue date no more than three months before the registration of the application.
All documents from abroad must have an apostille or legalization and official translation into Spanish when it is not in this language. The official translation must be legalized or apostilled according to the case.
In the case of the submission of bank statements, they may be submitted without apostille or legalization and without translation into Spanish, if their content can be clearly established by the visa officer.
In the case that the presentation of the judicial record is required, when the application for this visa is presented before a Colombian consulate based in the country of origin of the foreigner, the certification of judicial or criminal records will be sufficient according to the established procedures in that country.
When the application is submitted to the Internal Work Group for Visas and Immigration, you may present the judicial or criminal records certified by the consulate of the country of origin accredited in Colombia or apostilled or legalized as appropriate.
COMMON REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL KINDS OF VISAS:
Copy of the main page (biographical data) of the passport or travel document.
If you apply for your visa in Colombia, you must show that you are in a regular immigration situation and present the last entry, exit or safe-conduct stamp as the case may be.
CONDITIONS
The supporting documents and requirements other than identity or travel documents must have a date of issue no more than three months before the registration of the application.
All documents from abroad must have an apostille or legalization and official translation into Spanish when it is not in this language. Likewise, the translation must be submitted apostilled or legalized for Colombia, as the case may be.
The visa authority may verify the applicant's legal background online in the National Police database. It may also require the applicant to present his country's background.
Document proving the legal, regular or authorized stay of the country where the interested party is. This document applies in cases when the applicant is in a country other than his nationality
