Tomorrow's Lawyers predicts fundamental and irreversible changes in the world of law. For Richard Susskind, best-selling author of The End of Lawyers?, the future of legal service will be neither Grisham nor Rumpole. Instead, it will be a world of virtual courts, Internet-based global legal
businesses, online document production, commoditized service, legal process outsourcing, and web-based simulated practice. Legal markets will be liberalized, with new jobs for lawyers and new employers too. This book is a definitive guide to this future - for young and aspiring lawyers, and for all
who want to modernize our legal and justice systems. It introduces the new legal landscape and offers practical guidance for those who intend to build careers and businesses in law.

Tomorrow's Lawyers is divided into three parts. The first is an updated restatement of Richard Susskind's views on the future of legal services, as laid out in his previous bestselling works, The Future of Law, Transforming the Law, and The End of Lawyers?. He identifies the key drivers of change,
such as the economic downturn, and considers how these will impact on the legal marketplace. In the second part, Susskind sketches out the new legal landscape as he predicts it, including the changing role of law firms, and in-house lawyers, and the coming of virtual hearings and online dispute
resolution. The third part focuses on the prospects for aspiring lawyers, predicting what new jobs and new employers there will be, and equipping prospective lawyers with penetrating questions to put to their current and future employers.

This is the essential introduction to the future of law for those who want to succeed in the rapidly changing legal landscape.

More with Teams

Video Conferencing (VC) has been around ever since 1964 when AT&T launched the first ‘Picturephone’, which was so expensive it never caught on. Then many years later, at around the turn of the century, I remember hearing how VC was about to change the way we did business for good. It didn’t. S...

While the debate of what AI can or cannot replace ensues, technology has already replaced many ordinary, thankless administrative tasks. The potential to incorporate more AI in the legal field - is vast...

What if we could create a workflow for each specific kind of case so that you could ha an outline of the whole case process?

What if, using that system, I could assign any task via automatically generated email in any section to anyone inside or outside my organization?

What if I could see update reports and require approval of the final product even by yet another person?

With the Legal Centre platform - we can do that!

Check out the pics below. I have generated a Small Claims Court case workflow showing different views and the emails generated automatically when a task is assigned.

What can you do with this platform? You can use your MEETING ROOM to have a meeting with a client, take an online course or CPD, cycle through the legal process in you practice and record everything on-screen then have the video sent to your email inbox where you can click and open to review it with a searchable transcript provided. Every office has a PERMANENT MEETING ROOM (see first pic) which will open the meeting ... record the meeting with a click (2nd pic) .... get the email in your inbox (3rd pic) and review it in Stream (4th pic). The last pic shows a CPD I attended and got the transcript for later review. This can be a powerful tool for individual practice and for us as a profession to create standards and protocols for specific processes. Please comment.
