🇨🇦 EXPRESS ENTRY UPDATE – MAY 2026

Canada has conducted another Express Entry draw, issuing 334 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Permanent Residence under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

📌 Key Highlights:
✅ 334 candidates invited
✅ PNP-specific draw
✅ CRS cut-off score: 805
✅ Draw held on May 25, 2026

This draw had one of the highest CRS requirements seen this year, showing how valuable a Provincial Nomination can be in boosting an applicant’s score and increasing their chances of receiving an invitation.

With Canada continuing targeted immigration draws in 2026, candidates with strong profiles, provincial nominations, French language skills, or Canadian work experience remain in a competitive position for permanent residency opportunities.

Thinking about your Canadian immigration journey? Now is the time to prepare a strong profile and explore all available pathways.

🇨🇦 Canada continues to prioritize Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates through Express Entry!

In May 2026, IRCC held two PNP-focused Express Entry draws, issuing a total of 714 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Permanent Residence. The latest draw on May 25 invited 334 candidates with a CRS score of 805, while the earlier draw on May 11 issued 380 invitations with a CRS cutoff of 798. These draws highlight the growing importance of securing a provincial nomination, which significantly boosts an applicant's Express Entry score.

With Canada continuing to target skilled workers through provincial pathways, now is the perfect time to explore your eligibility and immigration options.

🇨🇦 Canada is planning a major change to its Open Work Permit system starting in 2026.

Under the proposed new rules, certain applicants — especially those applying for Spousal Open Work Permits — may soon need to prove their English or French language skills through approved tests like IELTS, CELPIP, TEF, or TCF.

The Canadian government says the move is aimed at helping newcomers integrate better into the workforce and reducing misuse of the immigration system.

If approved, this change could impact thousands of future applicants planning to study, work, or join family members in Canada. More details are expected from IRCC in the coming months.

⚠️ NEW CANADA TRAVEL WARNING – SUMMER 2026 UPDATE

Canadians planning to travel this summer are being urged to stay extra cautious as Global Affairs Canada has issued a new travel advisory affecting international travel plans for 2026.

According to the latest update, global disruptions linked to ongoing geopolitical tensions are causing fuel supply issues, flight delays, cancellations, and rising travel costs in multiple regions. Even countries not directly involved may still feel the impact due to airline route changes and fuel shortages.

Travellers are advised to:
✈️ Expect possible last-minute flight changes
🛂 Ensure passports and documents are valid
💰 Prepare extra funds for delays or extended stays
📍 Check destination-specific travel advisories before departure

Officials are also reminding travellers that travel insurance and backup planning are more important than ever this summer.

If you're planning a trip, stay informed and double-check updates before you fly.
