Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) update: We've finished sending Invitations to Apply to potential sponsors. Please check the email address you used when submitting your Interest to Sponsor form in 2020.

If you received an Invitation to Apply, you have until December 24, 2022 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time days to submit your PGP application in the Permanent Residence online application portal: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/family-sponsorship/sponsor-parents-grandparents/apply.html

You can use the Lost My Confirmation Number tool if you no longer have your confirmation number or access to the email address used to submit your Interest to Sponsor form

If you are unable to submit your PGP application online for accessibility reasons, please follow the instructions here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/family-sponsorship/sponsor-parents-grandparents/apply.html

Your parents or grandparents may still be eligible to come to Canada. Reminder: If your permanent resident application was approved, you must travel to Canada before your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR) document expires. If your CoPR expires before you enter Canada, you’ll have to apply again.

Sponsorship (Spousal/Family)
To immigrate to Canada under the Family Sponsorship Class (Spousal Sponsorship / Common-law Sponsorship / Grandparents Sponsorship), an individual must be sponsored by a close relative living in Canada as a permanent resident or a Canadian citizen. This is known as the "Family Sponsorship Class."
