⭐️ 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻, 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁. The Okanagan Indian Band’s Syilx Community Safety team is generously offering a two day Cultural Safety Education training, providing a safe and welcoming space for people to reflect on the impacts of colonialism on Syilx people.

The training covers crucial topics including Syilx Identity, Pre-contact, Canada’s Hidden History, Residential Schools, and Understanding Truth and Reconciliation. The training is completely free of cost; the only request is that participants bring a shareable plate for lunch.

The 2-day sessions run from 10:00am to 3:00pm on the following dates:

• October 7–8, 2026
• November 4–5, 2026

🤩 One of my favourite things about living in the North Okanagan is that there is always something new to discover, whether it’s a trail you haven’t wandered yet, a local artist you haven’t met, or a small business you haven’t had the chance to visit.

The Family Resource Centre’s 𝗠𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝘃𝗲 provides a free space for men aged 19+ to connect through a variety of activities and conversations. Creating spaces where people can build relationships and support one another is such an important part of a healthy community.
