Meet Kim! 👋

Kim is a legal assistant with Cedar Coast Law Group. Kim graduated from VCC in Hospitality Management program in 2001 and then moved into studies in law where she completed a legal administrative assistant program in 2004 from Capilano University. She is a senior legal assistant and has 20 years of experience in personal injury law. She also speaks fluent Cantonese and has worked closely with those claimants who language barrier would normally be a limitation to their claim from the beginning of the claim to the end. Julie is a legal assistant at Cedar Coast Law Group. Julie joined the firm in 2018 and brings years of experience to her role as a Legal Assistant. She earned her Legal Assistant Diploma from Douglas College. With extensive expertise in Civil Litigation, Small Claims, Corporate Law and Title Transfers, Julie plays a crucial role in supporting our lawyers across various legal matters. Kerri-Anne is a senior legal assistant with Cedar Coast Law Group. She joined in the firm in 2012 after obtaining her Legal Assistant Diploma. Kerri-Anne assists with many different departments at the firm including civil litigation, corporate law, estate matters and various office management tasks. Meet Annabel!

Annabel is a lawyer at Cedar Coast Law Group. She obtained her law degree from the University of Victoria and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2005. She began working at AMJ LAW in 2004 as an articled student and has been with the firm ever since.

Annabel’s broad training in both solicitor and litigation practices at the firm’s full service office have provided her with excellent experience and skills. She now works primarily as a civil litigator with preferred practice areas of personal injury and estates litigation, particularly in the areas of committeeship applications and Wills Variation Act claims. She tries to bring a practical, efficient and personal approach to her clients.

Annabel is originally from Vancouver and both lives and works in the Hastings-Sunrise area. Outside of work, she enjoys playing soccer, cycling, reading, music and food.

Meet Kepler!

Kepler is a partner at Cedar Coast Law Group. Kepler obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of British Columbia in 2017. In law school, he was a clinic head for the Law Students Legal Advice Program. He also spent a semester assisting low-income clients as a full-time clinician for the UBC Indigenous Community Legal Clinic, and co-founded the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers UBC chapter.

As a lawyer, Kepler works mostly with clients drafting their wills, helping them through the probate process, and litigating on their behalf when necessary. His diverse areas of experience include insurance claims, defamation, and commercial litigation.

In his free time, Kepler enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters and reading. He speaks English, Korean, and French fluently, and taught for many years at Sangmyung University in South Korea. Kepler is born and raised in the Hastings-Sunrise area and is proud to be working at a firm that serves the community he grew up in.

Mark is a partner at Cedar Coast Law Group. Mark obtained his law degree from the University of Ottawa and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2016.

Mark advises individuals and organizations on privacy and data protection, insurance, and employment law issues.

Mark is a Certified Information and Privacy Professional (CIPP/C). Mark assists businesses, organizations, and individuals navigate privacy laws in Canada, including:
- Advising businesses on complying with the Protection of Personal Information and Electronic Documents Act, the Privacy Act, and the BC Protection of Personal Information Act
- How to integrate the Canadian Standards Association’s best practices on privacy into your data collection and use
- Assisting organizations to collect and use personal and marketing information while still abiding by the requirements of notice, consent, and access
- Responding to requests from individuals and from the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of BC or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
- Creation of privacy policies

- How to handle and respond to breaches of data

As an insurance litigator, Mark has a keen interest in the role of insurance in data protection. Many new insurance policies have started to become available to those looking to protect themselves and their businesses from clandestine attacks on personal data. It is important to know that most general commercial liability insurance policies no longer cover your business against cyber attacks or the loss of data by an employee.

Meet Dustin!

A partner at Cedar Coast Law Group, Dustin has more than 10 years’ of experience helping a wide variety of clients after graduating from the University of British Columbia in 2013. Today, Dustin assists clients with setting up their businesses, estate planning, estate administration and conflict resolution needs. He has appeared within the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia on numerous occasions, obtaining favourable results for his clients.

Raised in East Vancouver, Dustin attended David Thompson and Vancouver Technical Secondary schools. At the age of 19 he sustained a traumatic spinal cord injury in a motorcycle accident and now dedicates a significant portion of his time toward assisting others within the spinal cord injury community. He is a past board member of the Neil Squire Society and Rick Hanson Institute (now PRAXIS).
