Well this year I am unusually behind schedule on both the bike training and fundraising. Alas, it’s time to wipe off the thick layer of dust on my road bike, roll up the fundraising sleeves and get to work! 💪🏼

This year marks my 10th consecutive Tour de Cure, to help the BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer! This ride is an epic 2 day 250+ km bike ride through the Fraser Valley and up to Hope, riding alongside many incredible people, many of whom are currently battling cancer or cancer survivors themselves. ❤️

With your support, I’ll be fundraising for life-saving cancer research and care right here in BC. Knowing that 1 in 2 British Columbians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, I knew just as in years past that I needed to do my part. This is about supporting friends and family who have been affected:

- My friends the Radziminski family and the memory of their 6 year old daughter Emma
- The memory of my stepmom Jane Anderson
- The memory of my wife’s Dad Michael Essex
- The memory of my dear friend Josh Formosa
- Those both young and old that are currently fighting cancer
- The unknown person whose life is altered by research breakthroughs from BC Cancer

Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.

As an added incentive, today the Leon Judah Blackmore Foundation announced that they will be matching donations for the first riders who raise $250 or more! 💰

Last year I raised over $5,000 personally and my goal is to achieve at least that this year. Your support is always greatly appreciated! If you haven’t yet donated to my Tour De Cure, there’s no better time than today! 🙏🏼
