We’re expanding east and opening a new Hammerco office in London, Ontario, led by Sabrina Lombardi, one of Canada’s top class action litigators.

It may be a new city, but we’ll be bringing the same Hammerco energy. The London office officially opens on December 1, 2025, strengthening our national presence and reinforcing our commitment to delivering powerful legal solutions to clients nationwide.

Canada’s first national alliance of sexual abuse lawyers has launched.

The Sexual Abuse Lawyers Alliance (SALA) brings together experienced civil litigation lawyers from across the country who are deeply committed to supporting survivors, sharing knowledge, and pushing for systemic change.

Built on the belief that shared expertise leads to stronger advocacy, SALA offers a professional network grounded in empathy, transparency, and collaboration. Members are united by a trauma-informed approach and a shared mission: to raise the bar in how survivors are supported through the civil legal system.

As SALA President and Hammerco Managing Partner Morgyn Chandler says: “Supporting and seeking accountability for survivors of sexual abuse demands more than just legal expertise. It requires empathy, respect, and a trauma-informed approach.”

SALA members also recognize that litigation isn’t the right path for everyone. They work to understand what justice means for each individual and maintain honesty about the barriers survivors may face in seeking accountability.

💡 A national conference, Advancing Standards in Sexual Abuse Litigation, is set for Fall 2025, bringing together lawyers and professionals who support survivors to explore best practices and raise the standard of care.

In April 2025, former Upper Lynn Valley Elementary teacher Brian Moore was found guilty of nine counts of indecent assault and sexual touching involving male students, primarily from his Grade 6 classes in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

At Hammerco, we are exploring the potential for a civil claim against the North Vancouver School District, which employed Moore at the time of the assaults. We believe there are grounds to investigate whether the District can be held vicariously liable for the harm caused by Moore.

Because survivors deserve accountability, not just from the perpetrator, but from the systems that failed to protect them.

We know the courage it takes to come forward. And we know the systemic barriers, especially for male survivors, that make disclosure even harder.

If you were a student at Upper Lynn Valley Elementary during the years Moore taught there, or if you suspect someone you know may have been affected, we encourage you to contact us in confidence.

You are not alone. And it’s not too late to seek answers, accountability, and justice.

Hammerco Partners Kevin McLaren and Alexia Majidi secured a $12.5 million settlement in our WestJet baggage fees class action.

Following our success defending an appeal from WestJet to overturn certification, Hammerco entered into mediation with WestJet in late 2023. A tentative settlement was achieved at mediation, and on October 11, 2024, Hammerco achieved a court-approved settlement.
