Introducing Colby Brochu, one of our summer students at De Novo Law Corporation who is entering his third year of law school at the University of Victoria.
Colby was born in Saskatchewan, raised in Alberta, and transplanted to B.C. in 2019 in pursuit of education and law school. Colby graduated from UBC with a BA in International Relations and Asia Area Studies where he focused on China’s history and Mandarin.
With a diverse background in a variety of industries and personal business ventures, Colby brings a well-rounded perspective to his law career. Having successfully run his own photography business for nine years, Colby understands the importance of relationship building with clients and local organizations. Colby also has experience working in banking and hospitality industries which he utilizes in his client-centered approach to ensure his clients’ needs are met beyond just the satisfactory level.
Colby is passionate about giving back to the community and has volunteered with organizations like Canada Winter Games, Canada Blood Services, St. John Ambulance, UBC, local food banks, the SPCA, and local animal shelters.
On his weekends, Colby spends time with family and friends, and playing sports. Depending on the time of year you can either find Colby skiing, hiking, golfing, playing chess, or competing in a Spikeball tournament.
