🌍🇨🇦Work Week @ My Desk Share

They came to us stranded in their old country. The Canadian government was taking their permanent residency away. With a son whose university enrollment was on hold. With a life in Canada that existed : jobs, plans, a future — and a life in their home country that had been long completed.

Time before, life went in their way and made them fly back to be with a very sick beloved person. And stay there longer which they did.

They came to us with something that was, by any honest measure, not an promise of a win.

The rule is universal: permanent residents must spend sufficient time in Canada to keep their status. Everyone knows the rule. What not everyone knows is how to argue the exceptions. And they were the exception.
We appealed the decision to cancel their permanent resident status.

The case hearing was extended twice due to insufficient time to hear all witnesses and arguments and lasted for three full days.

And then came the part that no counsel can shorten. The waiting. Waiting. Waiting.

Until a positive decision came. The ruling was to restore the status and return the family to Canada 👍

Enjoy Canada, guys.
We are rejoiced for you.

🇨🇦 Work Week @ My Desk Share

Go to a Shoemaker Before Your Shoes Fall Apart!

💡A graduate from 2 years program in cyber technology is looking at me in our Zoom room . His application for a post graduate work permit which he has been waiting for almost five months was refused . Because he failed to enclose the result of of his English test.m to his application.
His potential employer is not prepared to wait any longer, so the job opportunity is gone .
This young man is desperate because he realizes that his mistake was seemingly unimportant, but in reality changes the whole future that he had been working for for years .
To get this diploma he paid over $40,000 in tuition fees and $25,000 х 2 for living expenses in Canada .
2 years later, all his efforts are at threat.
Because of one mistake.
He can still be helped. We will apply for restoration of status and for the post-graduate work permit. His immigration story is not over.
But the job is over.
It did not have to happen this way!

When I buy new shoes, before wearing them I take them to a shoe maker to do protective soles.

My shoes are with a shoemaker before they fall apart. Not after.

I share it because someone reading this is sitting with the a question right now, and does not ask it.

🇨🇦🇺🇦Four brutal years…

Four devastating and unthinkable years since the most savage war in Europe since World War 2 was unleashed against Ukraine by Russia.

Four years of bombed houses,
Hospitals, daycares… Shattered families. Killed people and children. Children who have never known peace.

My mother grew up in Ukraine and took me there often. She used Ukrainian language often, jokes and sharp metaphors. I still remember them.

I feel privileged to listen and cry to the stories of my clients who fled the war and thanks to Canada were able to come to this country on CUAET. To start a long and very uneasy healing, a new life from zero, work, finding new selves.

I filed very many applications for Humanitarian and Compassionate consideration on behalf of my clients. Always in owe about their perseverance, their hard work, their refusal to be broken despite …..

And I feel privileged to receive the approvals on their applications. And rejoice with my clients. And I can not find enough words to express how happy we all feel in our office when these approvals arrive.

This week, we received two approvals. And the future of two more families received certainty.

Below are just a few important tests to answer when filing an H&C:

1. Establishment in Canada — employment, community ties, a life rebuilt from nothing
2. The devastating effect of the war on the applicant and family members
3. Absence of any alternative immigration program
4. Irrevocable and irreparable harm in case of return
5. The best interests of minor children
6. Etc

And I am grateful to IRCC officers who do their work diligently, assess cases in front of them in their entirety. And render fair decisions.

He was inadmissible to Canada because of a DUI. Married to a Canadian - everyone thought he had to leave.

But here’s what most people don’t know 👇

A Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) can be a powerful, discretionary solution for people who are technically inadmissible.

It’s not automatic.
It’s not easy.
And it’s never guaranteed.

Immigration officers apply a legal test:
👉 Does this person’s need to remain in Canada outweigh the potential risk to Canadian society?
In this case — we proved that it did.

One mistake doesn’t always define your future.
But strategy, preparation, and the right legal argument absolutely can.

If you or someone you know is facing inadmissibility — don’t assume it’s over.

🇮🇷🇨🇦 iMPORTANT!!!

Canada Continues Supporting Iranian Nationals: What You Need to Know!!!

Yesterday, thousands Iranians walked the streets of Toronto in support of their compatriots fighting the horrible regime back home. Such unity and inyielding hope for a better future is heart-warming as much as the situation in Iran is terrifying.

For the majority of our Iranian clients, who have worked in Canada for over a year or studied in Canada and now employed, we created their Express Entry Platform profiles in Canadian Experience, for some - filed for PR on humanitarian and compassionate grounds. Only a very few received ITA and none so far in the last couple years received a decision on H&C as H&C processing times are beyond reason.

But thankfully:

‼️ Canada supports Iranian nationals who are in-land, and extended special measures for Iranians living in Canada until February 28,2026.

Iranian nationals currently in Canada can apply to remain, for a work permit or for a study permit in Canada.

Who Is Eligible?

➡️ You are an Iranian national with valid temporary resident status in Canada
➡️ You arrived in Canada on or before February 28, 2025

➡️‼️‼️‼️Deadline: February 28, 2026.

Please Make sure to file your applications before the deadline!

In wholehearted support of your fight for freedom!!!
