TRUE or FALSE — drop your answers before scrolling!

1. A Notary Public can certify that a translation is accurate.
→ FALSE — a Notary certifies the translator’s signature, not the accuracy of the translation itself.
2. You need separate notarizations for each country a document will be used in.
→ SOMETIMES — an apostille covers Hague Convention countries; others may need additional legalization.
3. A Power of Attorney remains valid after the person who signed it passes away.
→ FALSE — a POA is automatically revoked upon the death of the grantor.
4. Notarization guarantees the content of a document is legally true.
