Planning to study in Canada?
Here are some key points international students should know:
• Study permit limits: Canada has introduced limits on the number of new study permits issued each year.
•PAL/TAL exemptions: Eligible master’s and doctoral students at public institutions may be exempt from the provincial or territorial attestation letter requirement.
• Co-op work placements: Eligible post-secondary students may no longer need a separate co-op work permit for mandatory work placements that are part of their study program.
• Changing institutions: Students who change their designated learning institution (DLI) must follow IRCC’s requirements and, in certain circumstances, obtain a new or updated study permit.
•Working while studying: Eligible international students may work up to 24 hours per week off campus while their classes are in session.
