The GTA housing market moved toward greater balance in August, with the average selling price at $993,410, down 2.7% year over year. Sales activity also eased, with 5,057 sales recorded during the month, down 2.1% from August 2025.
As supply continued to tighten across the region, market conditions varied by area. Toronto Central recorded 2,217 new listings, down 9.1% year over year, while Mississauga saw new listings decline 15.5%. Oakville recorded the largest decline in new listings at 38.5%, while Hamilton saw sales decrease 17.2% year over year.
