We do a lot of estate planning and Powers of Attorney work at LLDG. One thing we always tell clients is that fraud against seniors is more common, and more creative, than most people expect.
A recent story out of Huntsville, Ontario is a reminder of that. It includes a 101-year-old woman, a stolen cheque, and a 45-year-old charged with fraud.
If you haven't talked to your family about protecting their finances and documents, now's a good time.
