The Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, SC 2001, c 27 (IRPA) prohibits working without authorization and carries severe penalties. While students can work full-time during academic breaks and part-time during their academic sessions, things often become confusing once their classes are over and exams end. Remember that while you may continue to work after your classes are over, you must stop working as soon as you receive your official transcript or letter of program completion from your DLI. After this you may continue only if you are starting a new program OR once you submit your Post Graduate Work Permit Application. You can work full-time after your complete PGWP application is submitted (till you receive a decision from IRCC).
