This file was uniquely challenging as I had to obtain Probate/Certificate of Appointment in 2 weeks so that the client could close their real estate deal. The normal time frame for the Court to issue this Certificate is 4 to 5 months! Proud to say I managed to get the Certificate in just one week 😊

Biography

Rachel McDonald is Founder and President of McDonald Estate Services Ltd. She began her career in estate administration working alongside her father, Michael J. McDonald who practised law for over 50 years. Rachel’s clients benefit from the valuable skills she acquired while working with her father and other lawyers. She is a Law Clerk and Certified Executor Advisor (CEA) and has been working in the estate administration field for over 14 years.

While completing her income taxes, a “lightbulb” moment occurred with the realization that people had three choices: they could prepare their own income taxes, seek the help of a professional tax preparer, or retain an accountant.

The filing requirements for Probate/Certificate of Appointment applications are similar. You can prepare and file your own application, seek the help of a professional or retain a lawyer.

However, there was a void in the industry when it came to professional “Probate Preparers”. There was only one option that most people were aware of – retaining a lawyer. Hence, the creation of McDonald Estate Services Ltd. where you can have an experienced professional prepare and file the “Probate” application and guide you through the Estate Administration process.
