Canada has announced a special humanitarian program focused on resettling Afghan nationals who are outside of Afghanistan and who don’t have a durable solution in a third country, provided they fall under one of the following categories.

Do you fall in any of the following:
1. Have you or your family assisted the government of Canada?
2. Are you a woman leader?
3. Are you or have you been a human rights activist?
4. Are you an LGBTI individual?
5. Are you or have you been a journalist or from a group of people who have assisted canada?
6. Are you an immediate family member of one of the above?
7. Are you an extended family members of previously resettled interpreters who assisted the Government of Canada

Tech workers tend to do very well in Express Entry. According to the most recent Express Entry annual report, around one third of all successful applicants are tech workers. Four out of the five top occupations most selected for ITAs are in technology.

Each province also administers its own immigration programs that help address more regional labour market needs. Several have dedicated technology streams.

Nurses can immigrate to Canada as skilled workers through one of the federal or provincial economic immigration programs.

As a foreign nurse, you may be eligible for Express Entry under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), provided you meet the requirements of the program. You must submit a profile to a pool of applicants, following which you will receive a Comprehensive Ranking System score based on factors such as education, age, work experience and language skills.

The highest-ranking candidates are selected from the pool on a regular basis and receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence. There is no fee for entering the Express Entry pool and the standard of processing once you receive an Invitation To Apply is approximately six months.
