NOTARY SERVICES/APOSTILLE UPDATE

On January 11, 2024, Canada became a signatory to the Hague Apostille Convention, also known as the 'Convention de La Haye du 5 Octobre 1961'.

As a result, documents signed and sealed by Canadian Notary Publics no longer require certification at Philippine Embassies or Consulates. Instead, authentication from Official Document Services (ODS) is necessary for attachment of an APOSTILLE.

This deveopment will save time and money for individuals who need an Apostille to their document for use in the Philippines and any other country that is signatory to the Hague Apostille Convention.

Although individuals no longer need to attend at the Philippine Embassy or Consulate to have documents attached with an Apostille, they do still offer Notary Services and other legalization of documents for use in the Philippines.

Official Document Services has offices in Toronto at 222 Jarvis St., Ottawa at the Ottawa City Hall, Sault Ste. Marie at 420 Queen Street E., Windsor at Windsor City Hall, and Thunder Bay at 435 James Street S.
