For international students in Canada, what takes priority after graduation: accumulating Employment Insurance (EI) benefits or acquiring work experience via a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)? Many former students holding a PGWP have utilized EI benefits following job loss, maternity, or illness. While this is their entitlement, it could result in time being spent that could otherwise be used to gain essential work experience for Post-Graduation Work Permit and potential Permanent Residency (PR) pathway goals. Do not delay until your opportunities expire. Since the PGWP is a singular opportunity for international students, it is prudent to seek professional guidance for PR pathways without delay
