The closing of residential schools did not end their impacts. The disruption of families, languages, cultures and the passing of knowledge continues to be felt across generations.

Alongside these impacts are the strength of Survivors and communities reclaiming language, culture and ceremony. Reconciliation requires understanding the past and changing what we do today.

🧡 Join Us for a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Family Event 🧡

The Tofield Municipal Library warmly invites you and your family to join us on Wednesday, September 30th from 2:00–4:00 PM as we come together to learn, reflect, remember, and honour the importance of Truth and Reconciliation.

Our family-friendly event will include:

🧡 Programs and informational resources for children and adults
🧡 Authentic Indigenous food, including bannock
🧡 Informational and display tables
🧡 Orange Shirt apparel
🧡 Prize raffles

We are honoured to be partnering with the Four Winds Women’s Indigenous Group from Tofield and Tofield/Beaver County West FCSS to bring this meaningful event to our community.

We hope you’ll consider joining us as we acknowledge this important day together and begin what we hope will become an annual Truth and Reconciliation event at the Tofield Municipal Library.
