Meet Anna MacLean, one of our law clerks. Anna has been with us since September 2021, when she started as our receptionist!

Education: Graduated from Seton Hall University in New Jersey (earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology) while also playing varsity soccer
Enjoys: Hiking, playing guitar and spending time with friends and family; also enjoys playing and coaching soccer

What does Henderson Family Law charge for handling a divorce? For an uncontested divorce alone (that is, if all other issues have already been resolved), we offer a flat fee of $2,200.00, which includes filing fees (that we must pay to the court), legal fees and HST. Remember that if the other party chooses to contest the matter or a matter has to go to court, costs can increase significantly. ➡ The Province of Ontario has the Office of the Children’s Lawyer (OCL), which provides free services to represent the interests of children where there are contested issues such as parenting or child protection.
➡ For older children (generally above age 8), the OCL may appoint a lawyer to meet with the child in a non-court setting to hear their concerns and opinions.
➡ The lawyer then provides the court with the child’s views and preferences so the child doesn’t have to be in court.

Happy Pride Month 2026!

Lauren Fedoruk has been a member of the Henderson Family Law Team for the past three summers, and also completed her student placement with us during her final year of law school. In October 2025, Lauren was called to the Ontario Bar and has returned, briefly, for a fourth time with us before heading to Halifax, Nova Scotia to begin a judicial clerkship with the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal.

During her time at the firm, Lauren developed a strong interest in family law and the many ways it intersects with other areas of law. As she takes this next step in her legal career, she is looking forward to continuing to build on her knowledge of family law, while also gaining exposure to new areas of law through her clerkship.

Congratulations Lauren, and we wish you all the best in this exciting new part of your legal career!
