The immigration sandbox is littered with these types. If someone says they are a lawyer, confirm this with the provincial law society. If someone says they are a registered consultant, confirm with CICC. Also know that legal but unethical or incompetent representatives will be unlikely to encourage you to get a second opinion. Get a second opinion. A few hundred dollars for two consultations is better than tens or hundreds of thousands to a bad actor.

Now that Bill-3 has passed, it will mostly likely be law in January 2026. 🤞

"Once the new law comes into force, Canadian citizenship will be provided to people born before the bill comes into force, who would have been citizens if not for the first-generation limit or other outdated rules of past legislation."

November 21, 2025—Ottawa—Canada has taken an important step toward modernizing its citizenship laws. Canadians excluded under outdated rules will have a fair, clear way to pass citizenship on to their children born or adopted outside Canada.

Countries have a choice: increase international students for long term economic payoff or decrease them for short-term political payoff. We'd add that increasing students can include adjusting the system to exclude those who are non-genuine.

The United Arab Emirates has streamlined its “study-and-stay” and offered 10-year residency to select foreign nationals, to focus on long-term student retention."
