The Canadian Real Estate Association reports that home sales in July were up 6.6 per cent from the same month last year, extending the market’s rebound after a period of slower activity.

REAL ESTATE UPDATE

British Columbia has announced new housing targets for another 10 municipalities in an effort to meet growing demand across the province.

According to a statement released Thursday by the Housing Ministry, the plan calls for roughly 40,000 additional homes to be built over the next five years.

This marks the fourth wave of communities added to the expanded housing-targets program. The latest group includes Burnaby, Coquitlam, Courtenay, the Township of Langley, Langford, Penticton, Pitt Meadows, Richmond, Squamish, and Vernon.
