Now that is a remarkable CRS score! 🇨🇦🩺

IRCC conducted a targeted Express Entry draw for physicians with Canadian work experience:

📅 Draw date: September 3, 2026
🩺 Invitations issued: 229
📊 CRS cut-off: 198
🏆 Rank required: 229 or above
⏰ Tie-break: August 6, 2026 at 19:40:38 UTC

The CRS cut-off decreased by 25 points from the previous physician-specific draw held on June 24, 2026, when the cut-off was 223.

Important clarification: A CRS score of 198 does not mean that every Express Entry candidate with this score was invited. This was a highly targeted category-based draw available only to candidates who met the specific eligibility requirements for physicians with Canadian work experience.

This round is another clear example of how category-based selection can create meaningful opportunities for candidates whose skills and Canadian experience align with Canada’s priorities.

Congratulations to all the physicians who received an Invitation to Apply! 🎉

MANITOBA PNP ISSUES 741 INVITATIONS IN A TARGETED SKILLED WORKER DRAW!

Manitoba conducted Expression of Interest Draw #278 on August 27, 2026, issuing a total of 741 Letters of Advice to Apply. 🇨🇦

Key selections included:

🔧 600 LAAs — Technical trades and transportation occupations
📊 Lowest-ranked score: 731

🩺🚌 62 LAAs — Family physicians and bus/transit operators

🇫🇷 21 LAAs — Francophone selection

🤝 58 LAAs — Strategic recruitment initiatives

Of the 741 candidates invited, 150 declared a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code.

Important: This was a targeted draw—not a general invitation round. Occupation-specific candidates were required to declare current employment in Manitoba, and the score of 731 applied specifically to the selection of 600 candidates.

Congratulations to everyone who received a Letter of Advice to Apply! 🎉

CEC Invitations Double! 2,000 ITAs Issued at CRS 521

Some positive movement for Canadian Experience Class candidates! 🇨🇦

IRCC conducted a new CEC-specific Express Entry draw on September 1, 2026:

✅ Invitations issued: 2,000
📊 CRS cut-off: 521
🏆 Rank required: 2,000 or above
⏰ Tie-break: August 18, 2026 at 03:24:13 UTC

Compared with the previous CEC draw on August 18:

⬆️ Invitations doubled from 1,000 to 2,000
⬇️ CRS decreased from 523 to 521

The return to 2,000 invitations is encouraging. However, the CRS decreased by only two points and remains above 520—showing that competition within the CEC pool is still strong.

CEC draws are continuing, but candidates should focus on improving every possible CRS point instead of depending only on draw predictions.

Congratulations to everyone who received an ITA! 🎉🇨🇦

Spousal Sponsorship in Process? Here’s When Your Spouse Can Apply for an Open Work Permit

Confused about inland versus outland sponsorship—or whether an AOR is always required before applying for a spousal open work permit?

The key consideration is where the sponsored spouse is living when the work permit application is submitted.

✅ Normally, an AOR is required.
✅ The PR application may be inland or outland.
✅ The spouse must be living in Canada with the sponsor and meet the temporary-status requirements.
✅ A limited exception may allow an application without the AOR when temporary status expires in 14 days or less and the PR application has already been submitted.
❌ A spouse remaining outside Canada cannot apply under this particular public policy.
⚠️ They cannot work until the work permit is approved.

Some positive movement for Provincial Nominee Program candidates! 🇨🇦

IRCC conducted a new PNP-specific Express Entry draw on August 31, 2026:

✅ Invitations issued: 562
📊 CRS cut-off: 697
🏆 Rank required: 562 or above
⏰ Tie-break: April 12, 2026 at 04:32:26 UTC

Compared with the previous PNP draw on August 17:

⬇️ CRS dropped from 760 to 697 — a decrease of 63 points
⬆️ Invitations increased from 442 to 562 — 120 more ITAs

This is the lowest PNP cut-off of 2026 so far.

Remember, PNP draws only include candidates who already hold a provincial nomination, which adds 600 CRS points. That is why PNP scores appear significantly higher and should not be directly compared with CEC or category-based draws.

This is encouraging news for nominated candidates—but one draw does not guarantee that the cut-off will continue to fall.

Congratulations to everyone who received an ITA! 🎉

LMIA STILL PENDING? IRCC NOW ALLOWS 90 DAYS!

An important update for certain workers applying to extend their work permits from inside Canada! 🇨🇦

IRCC has increased the time available to submit a pending positive LMIA or CAQ from 60 days to 90 days after the work permit extension application is submitted.

However, this does not apply automatically to everyone. Generally:

✅ Your current work permit must expire in 2 weeks or less
✅ Your employer must have already submitted a complete LMIA or CAQ application
✅ No decision must have been made on that application
✅ The code CPTS2026 should be entered in the Job Title field of form IMM 5710
✅ Proof of the job offer and LMIA or CAQ submission must be included

Most importantly, this does not give you another 90 days to wait before applying. Your extension application should still be submitted before your current work permit expires.

If the positive LMIA or CAQ is not provided within 90 days, the work permit application may be refused as incomplete.

More time can certainly help—but correct timing and proper documentation remain extremely important.

LMIA-BACKED. APPROVED INSIDE CANADA. VALID FOR 3 YEARS!

Another wonderful result for our client!

Their LMIA-backed work permit application was approved from inside Canada—and the work permit is valid until August 2029, providing the full three-year validity requested. 🇨🇦

An approved LMIA is an important step, but the work permit application must still clearly demonstrate eligibility and be supported by complete, accurate and consistent documentation.

Congratulations to our client on this important milestone, and thank you for trusting Princess Immigration Services!

Nearly 30 Years in Canada—Then His PR Status Was Lost. Immigration Law Does Not Forget.

This case is a powerful reminder that immigration rules should never be taken for granted—even after decades in Canada.

According to the reported facts:

▪️ He was recognized as a Convention refugee in 1998
▪️ He became a permanent resident in 1999
▪️ He later travelled to his country of nationality seven times using that country’s passport
▪️ The tribunal found that he had reavailed himself of his home country’s protection
▪️ His refugee protection ceased, resulting in the loss of his permanent resident status

Important clarification: This particular case was about refugee cessation and reavailment—not a finding that the individual committed immigration fraud.

However, the broader lesson applies to everyone:

⚠️ Never hide important information
⚠️ Never make a false claim or submit false evidence
⚠️ Never assume that bending a rule will remain unnoticed
⚠️ Never take a risky immigration step without understanding its consequences

Immigration issues can be discovered and acted upon many years later. Time spent in Canada does not automatically erase a legal problem.

Your actions after receiving status can also matter. Before travelling to your home country, using a national passport or making any decision that could affect your immigration status, obtain advice based on your specific circumstances.

Do it right. Disclose fully. Protect your future.

Some positive news for BC PNP candidates! 🎉

The federal government has provided British Columbia with 1,000 additional nominations, increasing the province’s total 2026 allocation:

📈 Previous allocation: 5,254
➕ Additional nominations: 1,000
✅ New total allocation: 6,254
📊 Approximate increase: 19%

B.C. plans to use its full allocation by December 31, 2026.

The additional nominations will support the province’s updated priorities:

❤️ CARE — healthcare, education, childcare and veterinary care
🏗️ BUILD — skilled trades, infrastructure and major projects
💡 INNOVATE — high-impact talent supporting economic growth

At least 35% of nominations are anticipated for candidates working in communities outside Metro Vancouver.

Important: This is an increase in B.C.’s nomination capacity. It does not mean 1,000 invitations will be issued immediately or that selection is guaranteed. BC PNP selections will continue to follow the program’s targeted priorities.

Overall, this is definitely a positive development for eligible candidates and employers in British Columbia. 🇨🇦

5,000 invitations issued at a CRS cut-off of just 382!

Canada is sending a very clear message: French can completely change your Express Entry journey. 🇨🇦🇫🇷

And this is not just theory—one of my own clients received an invitation in the previous French-language draw. That is why I can confidently say: it is achievable.

Learning French requires time and commitment, but the opportunity is real. If your CRS score is not competitive today, French could be the factor that transforms your profile.

Don’t wait for the cut-off to rise before you begin. Start now—your future ITA may depend on the decision you make today.
