Hello! OCTOBER 24TH is the next Loh Down After Work's Dead or Alive Party. Lawyers and Paralegals - this is also your friendly reminder to get your wills and powers of attorney done!

For those of you who don't know me, I am a lawyer with 20 years of experience in real estate, family, estates and criminal law with business experience as a partner in a law firm, sole proprietor and an employee. I host a mentorship group for lawyers called the Loh Down, and I have After Work Dead or Alive parties planned for October 24 and December 5.

Lawyers are invited to bring the wills and powers of attorney they drafted themselves for some free witnessing/commissioning. Or just join me for some lawyer networking, gossip and tips for practice that you can't find online while we support a small business and eat great food!

On Thursday October 24th at 6:00 p.m. we are going to Peter's On Eglinton in Mississauga, a family restaurant with very large portions.

Here is The Loh Down for 2024!

I am hosting the first Loh Down: After Work - Dead or Alive Party for 2024 on February 20th in Burlington. I am still confirming which restaurant.

For those of you who don’t know me, I am a lawyer of almost 20 years of experience and I practice in the areas of family, real estate, wills and estates and have previous practised criminal defence law.

During the pandemic, I created a series of free videos that I offer to new lawyers looking for a mentor and I cover the various topics of how to complete your first real estate transaction, how to draft a financial statement, how to draft a will, etc. I created a mentorship group called the Loh Down.

I invite people to join my Slack group where I answer questions, share precedents and put up free CPD instructional videos. DM me if you want to join!

I organize After Work dinners in the GTHA to share mentorship tips that are off the record and to get lawyers out there meeting each other. The key to happiness is to have a community that understands you and too often, lawyers are lone soldiers, suffering great stress, with no one but LawPro to turn to. Lol. Lawyers need to help each other. Let's start by eating together. I'm eating, you're eating, why not eat at the same time and the same place?

I also have a Dead or Alive theme to my parties. We all need to have our wills and powers of attorney done and most of us are so busy with our clients’ problems we neglect ourselves - so for dinner, everyone is invited to bring their drafted wills and powers of attorney to be witnessed by the other lawyers there. No one is reading them or checking them out - dead or alive, your will and powers of attorney will be done by the time we are done dinner.

Too good to be true? No. It’s true. I'm offering you my best tips and shoulder to cry on from one lawyer to another.

Why am I doing this? Because I don’t give enough and I know life is short and I want to honour someone’s memory and he was very generous.
