What Are Section 7 Expenses?

When parents separate, child support covers basic living costs — food, clothing, shelter.

But what about:
✔️ Hockey fees
✔️ Dance classes
✔️ Braces
✔️ Tutoring
✔️ Post-secondary education
✔️ Daycare so a parent can work or go to school

These are called Section 7 Expenses (also known as “special or extraordinary expenses”) under the Federal Child Support Guidelines.
