Students across Niagara head back to class on Tuesday, Sept. 8, which means more feet, wheels and cars sharing the road. Here's what we've been working on to help keep everyone safe.

Near schools:
✅ Flashing beacons at school zone signs (7 a.m. – 5 p.m. on school days)
✅ Freshly painted "school ahead" markings on the road
✅ Pop-up bollards near schools to help slow traffic down

Across Niagara:
✅ Leading pedestrian intervals installed at 15 signalized intersections — these give people a head start to enter the crosswalk before drivers get a green light, making them more visible and reducing conflicts with turning vehicles

Remember: posted speed limits apply all day, not just when the beacons are flashing.

More upgrades are on the way in 2027. These changes, plus safe choices from all of us on the road, are part of our Road Safety Strategy to make Niagara safer for everyone.

SOLD FIRM 💙

This one feels a little different.

While I’m always grateful to share a successful sale, this property has been much more than just another listing. It has been one of the rental properties that my husband and I have owned and managed over the past 10+ years, and while it’s come with its share of challenges and lessons, it has also been home to some truly wonderful people.

We are incredibly grateful to the tenants who have called this place home, and especially for the kindness, patience and understanding they’ve shown throughout this process. They have been more appreciated than they probably realize.

For Steve and me, this sale also represents something a little bigger…

We’ve made the decision to slowly sell off most of our rental properties and, after many years of being landlords, hang up our landlord hats. It’s a decision that comes with a lot of mixed emotions, but ultimately one we’re making with our family, our time and our desire to simplify our lives in mind.

Sometimes success isn’t about adding more. Sometimes it’s about knowing when to let go of something that no longer fits the life you’re trying to build.

So, yes - another property sold. But for us, this one feels much more like the closing of a chapter.

Grateful for the journey, grateful for the people we’ve met along the way, and looking forward to a little more simplicity in the years ahead. 🤍

📌 Market Snapshot:
July was a mixed month across the Niagara Region, with the overall benchmark inching up 0.2% month-over-month. Port Colborne/Wainfleet (+2.2%), Fort Erie (+1.7%), and St. Catharines (+1.1%) led the monthly gains, while West Lincoln (-6.2%) experienced the largest decline. Year-over-year, prices remain below last July across all markets, though Port Colborne/Wainfleet (-3.1%) and Pelham (-3.4%) recorded the smallest annual decreases.
