A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to gift a piece of art--which is near and dear to my heart--to Mr. Gervin and the Indigenous Community Legal Clinic (ICLC) in recognition of Mr. Gervin's KC appointment and as a tribute to the incredible work the ICLC has undertaken for over 25 years.

The Allard School of Law was my first choice of law schools when I chose to pursue law, and this was in no small part due to the school having a legal clinic which was focused entirely on ameliorating the circumstances of Indigenous people.

Lucky for me, the ICLC turned out to be everything that I wished it would be when I had the chance to work there as a temporary articled student, legal advocate, and articled student. To say that I am immensely proud of the work I completed with the amazing staff of the ICLC is a massive understatement. As such, it brings me great pleasure to see a piece of art I produced sitting above the desk where I sat at the ICLC and where I truly learned what it takes to become an exemplary lawyer--a work in progress!
