🇨🇦 Ontario’s REDI immigration initiative is back, and running through to the end of 2027!

The Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) initiative allocates nomination spaces to selected Ontario communities that need skilled newcomer talent and have the capacity to support settlement and integration.

Six participating areas include:

📍 Greater Sudbury
📍 Kenora District
📍 Nipissing District
📍 Rainy River District
📍 Renfrew County
📍 Thunder Bay

The initiative operates under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) and offers eligible skilled foreign workers a pathway to permanent residence.

📌 Important: There is no separate REDI application. Applicants must meet OINP eligibility requirements to be considered.

🇨🇦 Express Entry is getting a major update on November 3, 2026!

IRCC is introducing a new Labour Market Integration factor that rewards eligible Canadian work experience and qualifying job offers in high-wage occupations.

Candidates could receive up to 70 bonus points for Canadian work experience or 100 points for a qualifying job offer. Qualifying job offers covered by the new rules will also no longer require an LMIA for these CRS points.

🇨🇦 IRCC has released Canada’s 2026–2028 Immigration Levels Plan. Here’s what you need to know.

📌 Permanent residence: 380,000 admissions annually, with economic immigration remaining the largest category.

✈️ Temporary residents: New worker and student arrivals will decrease to 370,000 annually in 2027 and 2028.

➕ Additional PR initiatives: Canada is also targeting transitions to PR for approximately 115,000 protected persons and up to 33,000 temporary workers.

📌 The main takeaway: Canada is prioritizing economic immigration and French-speaking newcomers while reducing the temporary resident population over time.

🇨🇦 Canada increases CEC invitations to 2,500 in its latest Express Entry draw!

📌 This is 500 more invitations than the previous CEC draw on September 29, which issued 2,000 invitations.

However, the CRS cut-off remained at 519 in both draws, keeping the minimum score unchanged despite the increase in invitations.

For candidates with eligible Canadian work experience, the CEC remains an important pathway to explore for permanent residence.

💰 Earned $80,000 or more in one year? You may now qualify for 10 OINP earnings-history points.

As of October 5, 2026, Ontario has updated the Canadian work experience: earnings history scoring factor under its Workforce Priority Stream Expression of Interest (EOI) system.

To qualify, your earnings must have reached at least $80,000 in a single year within the past five years and be verified through a Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Notice of Assessment.

Already registered? Your EOI score has been updated automatically, so you don’t need to log in to the OINP e-Filing Portal or make changes to your existing profile.
