Wrapping up another season of our Reciprocity Project – Food Trailer!

Today we hosted a Centre-wide staff luncheon, serving 195 meals!

This season we:
- Hired 3 youth employees
- Had 15 youth and young adults participate
- Supported over 30 community events through food service, pop stations, information booths and cleanup!

More than just serving food, it's about creating opportunities for our youth to learn new transferable employment skills and build connections.

A huge thank you to Natalia, Tysen, Chloe and their dedicated team, along with everyone in our Youth Services Department who helped make this season possible! 🧡

Today Angie, our Life Skills Worker, and youth made some delicious homemade stuffed turkey danishes! 😋

We offer both 1-on-1 and group cooking with our youth to support building skills, confidence and connection, and of course enjoying some good food along the way!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Truth and Reconciliation Community Night. 🧡

Special thanks to the Khast’an Drummers, Robin Chouinard and Kyle Sam for sharing their songs, and our Cultural Advisor Bertha Cardinal for opening our evening.

Today marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day - Every Child Matters.

What happened in Kamloops last Sunday hurt. Racism and hate are still here. Reconciliation is more than one day, it is the work we do every day.

To our youth, if you are feeling uneasy, unsafe, hurt or just need connection, reach out to your Youth Care Worker.

Hold your heads high. We are still here. We are strong, and we will continue to stand together. 🧡

The seasons are changing and harvest season is in full swing. 🍁🌕🍂

Fishing, hunting, gardening, canning, smoking fish and gathering what the land provides. Even better is having our Youth right there with us. 🧡

With Our Place to Dream taking the lead, we are all learning, helping, having fun and keeping those connections strong. 🧡
