It was in 1991 that Oakville’s two most formidable law firms decided that they could better serve the rapidly expanding community by joining forces. Each with twenty years experience, O’Connor Leitch Hays and MacLeod Knox Watts merged. Emerging areas of law could now be addressed along with conventional practice. Just nine years

later, there was further growth. With increased specialization in law, veteran Oakville lawyer Brian Hanna decided his clients would receive better service through a larger firm. The two firms joined together to become O'Connor MacLeod Hanna LLP. For nearly 30 years, the Hadhad family created and shipped specialty treats in the Middle East and Europe. In 2012, the family's Syrian factory was destroyed in a bombing that forced them to flee to Lebanon, as refugees.
