🇨🇦 Canadian work experience can now earn extra CRS points in Express Entry, starting November 3, 2026.

While Job offers in high-wage occupations earn 100, 70 or 50 CRS points,
Canadian work experience in high-wage occupations earns 70, 40 or 20 extra points.

Note:
You get one option, not both. IRCC applies whichever gives you more points.
Job offer points are not automatic. Update your profile before November 3.
The offer must be full-time, continuous work for at least one year after PR, and IRCC will check that it is genuine.
Scores will be recalculated over up to two weeks, and draws will pause.

🇨🇦 Express Entry Job Offer Points: Which Occupations Get 100, 70 or 50 CRS Points?

Starting November 3, 2026, IRCC will award additional CRS points for qualifying job offers in high-wage occupations. An LMIA is no longer required.

👉 The points are distributed across three categories:
100 CRS points: Occupations with a median wage at least 2 times the median wage of the overall Canadian workforce.
70 CRS points: At least 1.5 times.
50 CRS points: At least 1.3 times.
0 job offer points: Occupations not on the IRCC high-wage list.

👉 These categories are based on the occupation’s NOC code and national wage data, not an individual’s salary.

👉 A qualifying job offer is still required to receive job offer points. It must be for full-time, continuous work in Canada for at least one year after you become a permanent resident.

🇨🇦 Canada to Remove LMIA Requirement for Qualifying Express Entry Job Offers Starting November 3, 2026

IRCC is changing how job offers are assessed under Express Entry, making the process simpler for eligible candidates and employers.

Starting November 3, 2026, a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) will no longer be required for:

• Qualifying job offers to receive the new additional Express Entry CRS points.
• Job offers used to meet eligibility requirements under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP).
• Job offers used to meet eligibility requirements under the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).

🇨🇦 Job Offer Points Are Back, But With a New Approach!

IRCC is introducing changes to Express Entry, placing greater emphasis on Canadian work experience and qualifying job offers in high-wage occupations.
Previously, candidates could receive 50 or 200 additional CRS points for eligible job offers. These points were removed in March 2025.

Under the new approach, additional points will be awarded to eligible candidates with Canadian work experience or qualifying job offers in designated high-wage occupations.

What qualifies as a high-wage occupation?
IRCC defines these occupations based on their median wages compared to the average median wage of Canada's workforce.

Occupations are divided into three wage levels:
-At least 2 times the average median wage.
-At least 1.5 times but less than 2 times.
-At least 1.3 times but less than 1.5 times.

Eligibility depends on the occupation's NOC classification, not an individual's salary. IRCC uses wage data from the past three years to determine these levels.

The exact additional CRS points for each level have not yet been confirmed.

🇨🇦 IRCC wrapped up the week with a French-language proficiency draw, issuing 5,000 ITAs , a CRS score of 435.

While the score is slightly higher due to a 6-week gap since the last French draw, the big takeaway is what's coming next.

Historical precedent suggests IRCC may briefly pause draws ahead of major system updates and profile rescoring.

🇨🇦 French-Language Draws Resume After September Gap, CRS Jumps to 435, highest in 2026!

IRCC issued 5,000 ITAs targeting candidates with French-language proficiency.
The CRS cut-off rose to 435, an increase of 53 points from the previous French-language draw on August 19, when the cut-off was 382.

French-language proficiency still continues to offer a distinct Express Entry selection pathway, but this is a proof that CRS requirements can change significantly between draws.
