Great news for spousal and common-law sponsorships! The Honourable Marco E.L. Mendicino (Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship) announced on September 25 that IRCC is increasing it's decision makers for spousal applications by 66%.
Some of the initiatives to assist with this is the creation of a pilot to digitize paper applications in order for remote workers to better process them, facilitative biometrics measures, and remote interviews (to adhere with public health protocols during Covid).
These steps follow Canada's mandate to reunify families and is a welcome step in preventing the lengthy wait times for couples applying under this class.
Today, the Honourable Marco E. L. Mendicino, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, is announcing action to speed up spousal application processing and help families build their lives together in Canada.
