Not every dispute should go straight to court.

Sometimes litigation is necessary.
Sometimes it is the only way to protect your position.

But filing a claim should not be the first instinct. It should be a strategic decision.

Before you sue, the real questions are:

-Is the evidence strong enough?
-Is the cost worth the likely outcome?
-Is there a faster way to resolve it?

Would negotiation, mediation, or arbitration protect your interests better?
Will litigation create leverage or drain it?

A strong legal strategy is about choosing the path that protects your position and moves the matter forward with control.

A milestone that means a lot to our firm..

Adam Soliman has successfully passed his oral defence for his PhD in Law at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, UBC.

For Adam, the law has always been about thinking, preparing, and understanding the problem before acting.

This achievement reflects that commitment and it is the same standard our firm is built on.

Careful thinking.
Strong preparation.
Clear action when it matters.

Congratulations, Adam.

Divorce can get complicated quickly..

Emotions are high and decisions are rushed.
Small delays can create bigger problems, that is why early guidance matters.

If separation already feels overwhelming, start with clarity.

At Adam Soliman Law Corporation, we help clients put structure in place, protect what matters, and act before things escalate.

When safety is at risk, the right protection order matters.

A peace bond can apply broadly under the Criminal Code.
A Family Law Protection Order applies to family or relationship-related safety concerns.

Both can restrict contact and communication.
Both can be in place at the same time if needed.

The right option depends on the facts, the urgency, and the relationship involved.

A lot of people avoid making a will because they think it can wait.

Until the family is older.
Until life is less busy.
Until there is more to divide.

But the risk is not only about wealth.

Without a will, you do not control who handles your estate, how decisions are made, or how clearly your wishes are carried out.

That often leaves families dealing with uncertainty at the worst possible time.

A will is about reducing confusion and pressure, and it saves your family from conflict later.

A Business Legal Audit is a way to understand where the business is protected, where it is exposed, and what needs attention before pressure hits.

We look at the structure, agreements, contracts, employment and contractor compliance, intellectual property, and dispute readiness together, because legal risk rarely sits in one place.

A contract issue can become a dispute issue.
An ownership issue can become an exit issue.
A missing agreement can become a litigation problem.

The goal is clarity before the problem becomes urgent.

What if your business partner stopped cooperating tomorrow?

Not because anyone planned for conflict.
Not because the business failed.
Just because the relationship changed.

Who gets to make decisions?
Can one partner force a buyout?
What happens if there is deadlock?
Who controls the bank account, client relationships, or company assets?
What happens if one person wants out and the other refuses?

These are not questions to answer during the dispute.

They should already be answered in the shareholder agreement, partnership agreement, or corporate structure.

When the relationship is healthy, structure feels unnecessary.

When the relationship breaks down, structure becomes the thing that decides whether the business can still move.

The contract you signed two years ago may already be controlling your next move.

Auto-renewal clauses are easy to miss. So are limitation of liability clauses, termination rights, and dispute resolution terms that only become obvious when something goes wrong.

By then, your options may already be narrower.

A Business Legal Audit helps review the key contracts your business relies on, so you know what you are locked into before pressure starts.

Your contract dispute might be over before it has even begun, and you signed yourself into holding the short end of the stick.

Don’t let your enthusiasm to close the deal cause you to skip a careful review of all the terms, especially the “standard boilerplate” clauses.

Here are 4 Boilerplate Terms Businesses Can’t Ignore

In British Columbia, courts frequently interpret boilerplate clauses when commercial contract disputes arise. As a business owner, you grow your business with each contract you sign. Whether it’s closing a deal with a new client, finding a supplier, or entering a joint venture, the terms you agree...

There are moments in legal practice where timing matters just as much as the law itself.

A client came to me in complete chaos. Their business was at risk and waiting even a few more days could have changed the entire outcome of the matter.

That night, we got to work immediately.
By the next morning, I was in court on an ex parte application.

Urgent matters require calm judgment under pressure.
That’s one of the parts of this work I take most seriously.
