🔥 MASSIVE VICTORY THE COSTS ORDER HAS BEEN SET ASIDE! 🔥

Listen carefully, licensees: be persistent. Stand your ground. Fight, fight and keep fighting. Never surrender when you know the process has failed you.

The costs order has now been SET ASIDE.

This is a massive victory not only for me, but for every licensee and every person who believes they have been treated unfairly by the Law Society Tribunal.

Had I remained silent, that order would have stood. Instead, I challenged it immediately.

Persistence matters. Evidence matters. Accountability matters.

This victory will be the first of many.

I am not backing down; we are going to keep fighting, keep winning, and continue kicking ass! 🔥⚖️

PUBLIC STATEMENT — WHY THIS MATTERS IN MY RUN FOR NIAGARA CATHOLIC TRUSTEE

As I campaign for Niagara Catholic District School Board Trustee, I know some people will hear about my Law Society Tribunal proceedings. I will not hide from them.

I believe these proceedings have been politically motivated and connected to my decision to speak publicly about the treatment and scope of Ontario paralegals, challenge regulatory decisions, and run for Bencher because I believed change was needed.

When I disagreed with the Law Society’s interpretation of paralegal immigration scope, I first went to my Benchers and the Law Society. When I was ignored, I went to courts. The Court of Appeal granted leave, the case has been argued, and we are awaiting its decision.

This is not a case about stealing client money, dishonest accounting, abusing clients, or failing to cooperate. My fight has centred on advocacy, professional scope, freedom of expression, disclosure, witnesses, and my right to challenge decisions I believe are wrong.

I fought for disclosure, sought witnesses, brought motions and used the appeal process. I reject the suggestion that exercising those rights makes me vexatious.

I could have stayed quiet and accepted a resolution the Law Society repeatedly encouraged.

I DID NOT.

I wanted these proceedings public because I have nothing to hide.

The context matters. I ran for Bencher and openly challenged people at Convocation. Cathy Corsetti was a sitting paralegal Bencher when she made the complaint against me. Malcolm Mercer was an elected Bencher and Treasurer of the Law Society and is now Chair of the Law Society Tribunal.

Imagine criticizing your municipal council, MPP or MP, running for office because you want change, and then finding yourself professionally prosecuted or sanctioned in proceedings connected to people you had publicly challenged. Wouldn’t you demand independence, transparency and public scrutiny?

That is what I have demanded: disclosure, witnesses, a fair hearing and the right to challenge decisions through the courts.

And that is directly relevant to why I am running for Trustee.

Parents deserve to be heard. Teachers deserve to be heard. Taxpayers deserve accountability. Students deserve Trustees who ask questions instead of rubber-stamping decisions.

I will not promise that one Trustee can control an entire Board.

I WILL PROMISE;

SHOW UP
LISTEN
READ THE DOCUMENTS
ASK QUESTIONS
DEMAND ANSWERS
VOTE INDEPENDENTLY
REPORT BACK TO THE PUBLIC
OPEN DOOR POLICY

Some people see someone who challenges powerful institutions as difficult.

I see someone who refuses to look the other way.

If elected, I will bring that same determination to Niagara Catholic — respectfully, lawfully and transparently.

PARENTS. TEACHERS. STUDENTS.
FAITH. TRANSPARENCY. ACCOUNTABILITY.

Candidate; Niagara Catholic District School Board Trustee, Niagara Falls

PARALEGAL INDEPENDENCE IS MOVING FORWARD.

For years, Ontario paralegals have talked about whether our profession should have an independent regulatory framework.

Now, something important has become very clear.

The Law Society of Ontario has expressly stated that the authority to change the regulatory framework for paralegals rests with the Government of Ontario.

That matters.

And now the Ministry of the Attorney General’s Policy Division has confirmed that the Canadian Paralegal Alliance’s proposal for independent paralegal regulation has been received and will be reviewed and considered as part of the Ministry’s ongoing policy development and decision-making process.

Read that again.

Our proposal is now before the people who actually have the legislative authority to make change happen.

This does not mean the work is finished. It means the conversation has moved beyond simply asking whether change is possible. We are now putting a concrete alternative before government and asking it to seriously examine the future of paralegal regulation in Ontario.

Every paralegal should read both letters.

The Law Society has identified where the authority rests.

The Ministry has confirmed that our proposal is being reviewed and considered.

That is progress.

The Canadian Paralegal Alliance will continue pushing this forward. Paralegals deserve a regulatory system in which they have a meaningful voice in the governance, development and future of their own profession.

Step by step, paralegal independence is getting closer.

This is only the beginning.

Can you believe this was me in high school?! 😂

Tony Caruso long before I ever imagined where life would take me.

From a student in Niagara Falls to now asking for the opportunity to serve our students, parents, teachers and Catholic school community.

And who knows… maybe you’re looking at your next Niagara Catholic School Board Trustee! 🙏🇨🇦

The journey continues and I’m just getting started.

🏆 ANOTHER VICTORY AT THE LANDLORD AND TENANT BOARD!

Every successful outcome is a reminder that everyone deserves a fair hearing and strong representation.

I was proud to represent the tenants in this matter, and together we achieved a successful result. Justice isn't about who has the deepest pockets—it's about knowing the law, presenting the evidence, and standing up for your client's rights.

To my clients, thank you for placing your trust in me throughout the process.

If you're facing a dispute before the Landlord and Tenant Board, remember that preparation, persistence, and experienced representation can make all the difference.

Every case is unique, and past results do not guarantee future outcomes, but I will continue fighting for fairness, one case at a time.

BREAKING NEWS

Congratulations to Shalini Konanur on being elected Treasurer of the Law Society of Ontario.

I also want to thank the benchers who showed that the Law Society still has at least some common sense left by not electing Mr. Rubber Stamp.

Apparently, “no questions, no research, no due diligence, just nod and approve” was not enough of a platform.

The autopen was left unplugged.

The rubber stamp stayed in the drawer.

And for one day, common sense actually survived at the Law Society.

From STOPSOP, to floor crosser, to Good Governance the machine finally jammed.

Congratulations to the new Treasurer. Now let’s hope this is the beginning of real leadership, real accountability, and a Law Society that remembers it is supposed to serve the public interest not just protect the club.

Representing the Canadian Paralegal Alliance as its president and in my capacity as the Trusted Avvocato for the City of Niagara Falls, appointed by the Consulate General of Italy, I was honoured to attend the Italian Flag Raising Ceremony at Niagara Falls City Hall in celebration of Italian Heritage Month.

Today, I had the honour of being invited to attend the Italian Flag Raising Ceremony at Niagara Falls City Hall in celebration of Italian Heritage Month.

It was a privilege to stand alongside His Excellency Alessandro Cattaneo, Ambassador of Italy to Canada, as well as federal Member of Parliament Tony Baldinelli, Mayor Jim Diodati of Niagara Falls, Ontario, and Mayor Robert Restaino of Niagara Falls, New York.

As a proud Italian-Canadian, this event was about far more than raising a flag. It was about celebrating our shared heritage, culture, traditions, and the immense contributions that Italians have made to Canada, the United States, and communities around the world.

What made today especially meaningful was seeing leaders from both sides of the border come together in a spirit of friendship and unity. The Italian community has always been built on family, hard work, faith, and service to others. Those values continue to unite us regardless of where we live.

I would like to thank the organizers, the Italian community, and all elected officials and dignitaries who participated in this important celebration.

Today, the green, white, and red flew proudly over Niagara Falls, reminding us that while we may come from different cities, provinces, states, and countries, we remain united by our Italian roots and a shared commitment to building stronger communities.

🇮🇹 Viva l'Italia! 🇨🇦
