Canada and United States borders close tonight at midnight.

03/16/2020

Canada just closed its borders to all non-citizens or permanent residents, except for U.S. citizens. To be eligible to enter canada as a non-resident, one must be visiting immediate family. Although all the details have yet to be learned, entering or visiting Canada has just become more complex for non-U.S. foreign nationals. I hope international students currently abroad will be able to return to Canada once studies resume. I also wish the best to any international students that are outside Canada but not in his or her country of residence. In addition, all in-person Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) hearings are cancelled until at least April 5th.
