On October 31, 2017, our firm - Renno & Vathilakis - Avocats | Lawyers - along with Joey Zukran and LPC Avocats filed a class action as against Loblaws and a number of companies for the alleged price fixing of bread. Seven years later, we
are proud to report that a settlement has effectively been reached with Loblaw and George Weston Ltd.; a settlement that will represent the largest anti-trust settlement in Canadian history. The case will continue - in multiple juridictions - against the other defendants.

Highest court in Canada, the SCC held three sessions and heard 67 appeals, in 2022. For the same year, there were 765,967 active civil court cases in Canada. Of these, 344,382 were initiated in that year, while 389,446 had a court event that disposed all or part of the case (such as a settlement or judgment).

We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who worked so diligently on this amazing and never-ending file. A huge congratulations!
