This weekend, I’ll be with several people in my world who are each navigating difficult moments with aging parents.
A move into a senior residence.
A sudden fall and a broken hip.
A long goodbye… and a funeral.
Different stories, but the same feeling, a mix of love, responsibility, and overwhelm.
In these moments, what matters most is being present. Sitting together. Making space for what’s happening.
And then, the practical side begins to surface.
The home. The belongings. The next steps. The decisions no one feels ready to make.
By that point, many people are simply exhausted.
This is the part of my work that matters most to me, being there not just for the decisions, but for the people living through them. Helping bring clarity, perspective, and a way forward.
One step at a time.
