Before you apply for a Canadian work permit, check these 2 things first 🇨🇦

A Canadian work permit is not just about wanting to work in Canada your application needs to show that you meet the right requirements.

Two important things you may need are:

✅ A valid job offer
Your employer, position, wages, and job duties should be clear and aligned with the type of work permit you’re applying for.

✅ The right language level
Depending on the job and program, language ability can play a key role in proving you’re prepared for the position and your future in Canada.

Missing one detail can lead to delays, refusals, or unnecessary stress.

Curious if your job offer and language level are enough for your work permit application? Send us a message or save this post for later. 📌

🚨 Ontario has eliminated all OINP streams.

But before you panic, here's what you need to know:

Ontario is not ending provincial immigration. Instead, the province is moving to a new selection system that may place greater emphasis on labour market needs and priority occupations.

This could have a significant impact on future immigration strategies for workers, graduates, and employers.

👉 Contact Immigria to understand how these changes may affect your pathway to Canada.

One of the biggest questions couples have when moving to Canada is:

👉 “Can my spouse work too?”

The answer is: yes… but not always.

Recent immigration changes have made spousal work permits more restrictive.

Now, eligibility depends on factors like:

✔ Your study program (not all qualify anymore)

✔ Your job classification (TEER level matters)

✔ The duration of your permit

This means one decision—like choosing the wrong program or job—can directly impact your partner’s ability to work.

And that affects:

• Your household income

• Your long-term plans

• Your overall experience in Canada

This is no longer just an individual decision… it’s a family strategy.

At Immigria, we help you plan the right pathway so both you and your partner have the best opportunities.

Your Degree Might Not Count in Canada 🇨🇦

Did you know your education from back home may not automatically be recognized in Canada?

Many newcomers arrive with years of study, professional experience, and strong qualifications only to discover that Canadian employers, schools, or licensing bodies may require an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) or additional certification.

This doesn’t mean your degree has no value. It means Canada needs to compare your education to its own standards, especially for immigration programs like Express Entry or for regulated careers such as healthcare, engineering, teaching, or law.

The earlier you check, the better prepared you’ll be. Knowing where your degree stands can help you avoid delays, plan your career path, and make smarter immigration decisions.

Curious if your credentials are recognized in Canada? Save this post and start checking before you apply.

Starting over isn’t failure, it’s strategy 🇨🇦
You might have years of experience back home… but in Canada, local experience can make all the difference.
Many newcomers face this reality: your qualifications are strong, but employers are looking for familiarity with the Canadian workplacecommunication style, expectations, and industry norms.
That’s why being open to starting fresh even in a slightly different role or level can be a powerful move. It’s not about stepping back, it’s about stepping in.
We’ve seen clients who took that first “Canadian experience” job and, within months, leveraged it into roles that truly matched their skills and goals.
✨ Adaptability is your advantage.
✨ Every role builds your story here.
The key is to stay focused on the bigger picture: building credibility, confidence, and connections.
Curious how to position your experience for the Canadian job market? Let’s talk.

🎓 “Do I need WES for Canadian immigration?”

Short answer: If you studied outside Canada and want to immigrate through programs like Express Entry, you’ll most likely need an ECA.

World Education Services (WES) is one of the organizations designated by IRCC to issue an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) — but it’s not the only one.

Other approved organizations include:
• International Credential Assessment Service of Canada (ICAS)
• International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS)
• Comparative Education Service (CES)
• International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES)
• Medical Council of Canada (for physicians)
• Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (for pharmacists)

An ECA helps determine how your foreign education compares to Canadian standards, and it can directly impact your immigration points.

Many applicants are surprised to learn that having a degree alone is not enough. Without a valid ECA, your education may not be recognized for immigration purposes.

It’s also important to know that some regulated professions — such as physicians and pharmacists — must obtain their ECA through a specific designated professional body, not through WES.

The good news? Starting the process early can save you time, reduce stress, and help you avoid delays in your application journey. 🇨🇦

Every profile is different, and choosing the right assessment organization matters depending on your profession and immigration goals.

Curious if you need an ECA, which organization is right for you, or how many points your education could give you? Send us a message or save this reel for later ✨
