CHANGES TO BREACH NOTICES IN ALBERTA
The Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta (OIPC) has amended the rules on privacy breach notices to prioritize incidents posing significant risks, aiming for quicker resolutions. The changes include:
Expedited processing for breaches that present a real risk of significant harm.
Breach notification decisions will now be issued only for breaches that a real risk of significant harm.
