The website is finally ready.

After months of work, rewriting, reorganizing and probably far too much time staring at the Wix editor 😄, I've finished the updated Real Estate Rules Of Engagement website.

The idea behind it is simple:

Real estate experience matters — especially when you're dealing with large amounts of money, difficult decisions and situations that don't always go according to plan.

I've spent more than 40 years in this business, and the site is my way of sharing some of the real-world lessons I've learned along the way.

It's primarily intended to help newer and struggling agents recognize areas where they may need to improve, but there is also information for buyers and sellers.

Real estate agents can pick one of 3 quick and easy replies for when a buyer or seller says to the real estate agent:
1) “Cut your commission and we will list with you tonight”. Or
2) “We really like this offer, but this is only our first offer so we will turn it down”.Or
3) “We love the house you just showed us, it’s perfect but we haven’t seen enough yet”

For many agents the answers might be:
#1 Just ask them…“You sure?
#2 Reach into your pocket, pull out and blow the whistle and show them a Red Card before leaving.
#3 Learn to become a better agent who can “deal with” these and other very common objections just like all skilled and seasoned professionals who have learned how and already understand the Real Estate Rules Of Engagement.

Why? Because In our super competitive real estate business, your income will depend on it and improvements work!

Have you ever noticed that much of real estate advertising sounds something like this?
"I'm the best."
"I'm number one."
"I'm the hardest working."
"Choose me."

While there's nothing wrong with promoting yourself, I've often wondered whether we spend too much time trying to convince people we're the best and not enough time helping them understand what makes a real estate professional truly valuable:
Knowledge.
Preparation.
Communication.
Professionalism.
Decision-making under pressure.

Those are some of the qualities that helped shape my own career and continue to inspire the ideas behind Real Estate Rules Of Engagement.
