Please join me in welcoming the newest addition to our team: Jasmeen Grewal!

Jasmeen recently completed her second year at Osgoode Hall Law School. She commenced law school with an interest in practicing family law which further developed during her studies.

Jasmeen currently serves as the Vice President of the Osgoode Hall Family Law Association. Throughout her time at Osgoode Hall, Jasmeen has participated in mooting competitions to strengthen her advocacy skills and volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada to advance access to justice in Northern Ontario. Prior to joining Allalou Law, she was a caseworker at Parkdale Community Legal Services where she assisted clients with employment disputes.

Jasmeen looks forward to utilizing this experience and knowledge to help serve the clients at Allalou Law with their legal matters.

Allalou Law is looking for a junior lawyer to assist its growing and expanding law practice. Allalou Law primarily deals with the area of family law, real estate law, wills and estates and criminal defence.

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who is motivated to gain valuable experience in family law and real estate law alongside an experienced lawyer. The candidate would have a high degree of independence and be able to work both remotely and from our main office in Mississauga, ON.

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Preparing and attending for on-going family litigation matters;
2. Conducting conferences, mediations, motions, and trials;
3. Drafting pleadings;
4. Conducting legal research and drafting factums;
5. Organizing and maintaining files;
6. Experience using DivorceMate, Caselines, Westlaw and Practice Panther is an asset.

Your application must include:

2. CV
Letters of reference, transcripts and writing samples are encouraged.

The successful candidate would have at least 1 year of litigation experience. Family Law experience is a must. Real Estate experience is an asset. Congratulations Marrinette Magrofa! I had the honour of administering the Oath of my law clerk, Marrinette Magrofa, to become a licensed paralegal today upon learning she passed her licensing exams. In just a few weeks, she will be fully licensed and a practicing paralegal at Allalou Law. A very well deserved achievement. So proud of you Mare Magrofa! Please join me in congratulating her and welcoming her to the profession!

It’s been just over a year since I first opened Allalou Law. In one year, my office has grown tremendously. I have been able to grow my firm by hiring a full time staff. Ive appeared countless times before the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice in English and French. I’ve had many successes and I believe one reported decision. I’ve now expanded my practice to include real estate law. When I started the firm, I didn’t ever imagine I could get this far in such a short span of time. I want to thank all of my clients who have trusted me with their matters, their children, and their liberty. I want to also thank all my colleagues who have been a phone call away mentoring me as I navigate being a lawyer and a business owner. But most of all my partner, my friends and family who have been here for me through it all. I don’t know what year 2 has in store for the firm but I anticipate growing my team very soon! Allalou Law Year 2, here we go. Bismillah.

Soumia Allalou, B.C.L./L.L.B.

My aim and passion is to be the right legal advocate in family, marriage, criminal, employment law, and more, for you. I completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts at the University of Toronto with High Distinction in 2013. I was the recipient of the Graduation Prize in Political Science for outstanding achievements and academic record as a member of the graduating class in the political science program. Going on to earn dual law degrees, in both Common Law and Civil Law from McGill University’s Faculty of Law in 2016. I worked for 2 years as an associate at Kutty and Associates. Prior to that, I summered and articled with Legal Aid Ontario, working extensively in both criminal defense and family law. As an articling student, I took on criminal defense litigation work at the Major Case Management Office, Duty Counsel services at Old City Hall courthouse, and family law litigation work at the Family Law Service Center. After successfully completing my licensing requirements, I was called to the Bar of Ontario in June 2018. As your legal advocate I am fluent in English, French and Arabic and can provide legal services in both of Canada’s official languages. I have appeared before both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and focus my practice in the areas of criminal defense, family, and civil litigation.
