Our proactive approach is designed to minimize our clients’ legal exposure. Often, we resolve workplace issues before they escalate. When disputes progress, we represent clients expertly and effectively.
PROACTIVE
Labour and employment laws have significantly increased in complexity in recent years. We assist clients by providing realistic, achievable solutions for even the most complicated workplace issues.
DYNAMIC
Employers must contend with the ever-changing landscape of federal and provincial workplace-related laws and regulations. That’s why employers turn to us for advice on all legal matters relating to the workplace.
While the lawyers at Crawford Chondon & Partners LLP have diverse backgrounds and practices, all are committed to providing strategic, proactive and business-focused solutions to the complex legal challenges that continually arise in the ever-changing field of labour and employment law.
To this end, our lawyers are routinely called upon to provide sophisticated representation and advice for employers in virtually every area in our broad legal field. We routinely appear as advocates in mediations and hearings before labour relations tribunals, employment standards officers, human rights commissions and tribunals, workplace safety and insurance boards and tribunals, grievance arbitrators and the courts. Our lawyers also represent employers at the bargaining table in collective agreement negotiations and in interest arbitration proceedings.
Employer concerns in labour and employment law are not always legal. Because we take our role as strategic and proactive advisors seriously, for a number of years our firm has worked closely with The Employers’ Choice Inc., a human resources consulting firm, to develop and implement training programs, employment policies and contracts, and other human resources for our clients and various professional organizations.
Our geographic location has been fundamental in the development of our client base. While a large concentration of our clients is found in the Greater Toronto Area, our client base stretches across Ontario, across the other provinces and outside Canada. As demonstrated in other pages on this site, we act for a diverse array of unionized and non-unionized employers. Our clients in the private sector range from banks, call centres, and research and knowledge-based companies, to employers active in the automotive, manufacturing and transportation sectors of the economy. We also act for public sector employers such as hospitals, child care operations, and municipalities. Finally, our firm has a strong and well-known presence in the construction industry.
