Travelling or returning to Canada? Starting October 1, all border requirements, including vaccination, testing and quarantine/isolation, will be removed for all travellers entering Canada. You can still use ArriveCAN to voluntarily submit your customs and immigration declaration before arriving at Toronto Pearson, Vancouver or Montreal-Trudeau international airports.

Important announcement for international students.

International Students: as we transition back to pre-pandemic requirements, we are extending distance learning measures to pursue your studies online from outside Canada while remaining eligible for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) until August 31, 2023.

✅If you’re already studying online from outside Canada, or you submit a study permit application before August 31, 2022, you will still be able to complete up to 100% of your program online without affecting PGWP eligibility.
✅If you start a program between September 1, 2022 and August 31, 2023, or apply for a study permit before August 31, 2023, you will be able to complete up to 50% of your program online from outside Canada without affecting PGWP eligibility.
✅Starting September 1, 2023, all study time completed outside of Canada will be deducted from the length of your PGWP, regardless of when you began your studies.

We encourage international students to come back to Canada as soon as possible, but this transition period is available if you need some more time to do so.

Latest update from IRCC on improving service for a stronger immigration system.

✅ We've expanded our online application portal to most permanent residence (PR) applicants and will begin transitioning to 100% digital applications for most PR programs on September 23, with alternate formats available for people who require accommodations: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/2022/08/transitioning-to-online-applications-for-permanent-residence.html

✅ By Spring 2023, we will expand our permanent residence application status tracker to include more PR programs and some temporary residence (TR) programs, to help applicants more easily check their application status online.

✅ To help reduce wait times, we intend to introduce a temporary policy to exempt PR and TR applicants who meet certain criteria and are already in Canada from having to submit another Immigration Medical Exam, saving them time and money.

✅ We resumed in-person spousal sponsorship interviews at Canadian and international offices but continue to offer virtual interviews to clients, where possible. We are also working to expand the availability of virtual interviews overseas.

✅ Our online citizenship application tool now allows groups of adults to apply together. We plan to expand this tool to offer online applications for minors under the age of 18 by the end of the year. Access to our online Citizenship Application Tracker will also be extended to include representatives this September.

We will continue to set the bar higher for processing so more people can achieve their dream of becoming Canadians and Canada continues to benefit from all that newcomers have to offer to communities across the country. As of September 7, fully vaccinated travellers, from any country, can enter Canada.

Check out this summary of the border measure changes:

✔️ Fully vaccinated travellers who meet all of the mandatory requirements do not have to quarantine upon arrival in Canada.

✔️ Travellers MUST show their receipt to board their flight.

✔️ All travellers must have proof of a negative COVID-19 molecular test taken within 72 hours before arrival, or a positive result taken 14-180 days before arrival. Antigen tests will not be accepted.

✔️ Fully vaccinated travellers do not need testing, unless they have been randomly selected to complete a Day 1 Covid-19 molecular test.

✔️ Travellers entering Canada for exempt essential purposes, such as medical support and trade and transport, will be able to save time by entering their info in ArriveCAN once and using the same receipt for each entry into Canada.

✔️ Unvaccinated children under 12 travelling with fully vaccinated parents and/or guardians no longer have to quarantine, but must avoid group settings during the first 14 days after arrival.

As of August 11, 2021, IRCC has opened its online application to most applicants who are applying as individuals (not as a family).

Later this year, the online application will be available to:

1- families (groups).
2- minors under 18 years of age.

Good News for Parents and Grandparents (PGP) program applicants.

We will accept a record number of applications for the 2021 Parents and Grandparents (PGP) program and give those who submitted an Interest to Sponsor form in 2020 another chance to be selected to apply. http://ow.ly/T0El50FA8qA

For the 2021 PGP intake, we will randomly select from the remaining pool of Interest to Sponsor forms received in 2020 and then send invitations to apply to potential sponsors, starting the week of September 20, 2021.
